Our first time trying the indian buffet tonight and we were not disappointed. A great selection of authentic indina food, including something different to try - liver masala, which was very nice. I have had to edit this review as I can't leave another, for some reason, after trying several times. Some weeks ago we came in for our regular carvery and ordered 2 diet cokes. It was busy, so we decided to join the queue for our carvery before our drinks arrived. We were stood right by the bar when, I assumed, our drinks were being poured. The glasses were 3/4 full and as our server walked past us I stopped him to ask if they were ours. Once he had confirmed they were, I asked him to take them back and ask to fill the glass please. I intended on speaking to the girl behind the bar, until I saw her reaction. Staff need to be reminded that customers queue right in front of the bar!! She said, "what!! That's a standard pour, what are they talking about!" Then the owners wife/partner/pub manager appeared and wanted to know what was wrong. She spoke to our server who told her we wanted our glasses filled. She said, "tell them that is how the drinks come!" Looked at the girl behind the bar and said, "just do it!" Then as the server walked away said, "tell them next time that is how drink is." All very aggressive. After we paid our bill, as there is no price list, we worked out that our drinks were just shy of £5 each!! And you want to serve a glass 3/4 full?? The food was great but what we experienced that day has left a bad taste! We have yet to return.

I'll start with Steak night as its earliest in the week. I called in the morning and managed to order a tomahawk steak! It was perfectly cooked and just so much food! My wife and son opted for the ribeye, their food was also cooked to perfection, you can tell the steak is cooked on coals 🤤 The curry nights on Fridays are great. The flavours are a lot different for your average curry house and all you can eat. I've been twice and can't manage to finish a 3rd plate... but I feel like this is a challenge šŸ˜‚ Saving the best till last. The Sunday carvery is the best I've ever had! The servings are huge! The meat is always well cooked, especially the beef šŸ˜‹ 🤤 the veg is always great. Our friends are vegetarian and we're impressed thst with their vegi option they also got vegi gravy. My only complaint would be that there's never room for dessert šŸ˜‚

What can I say about the four cross roads pub? Well the outside seating area is poorly designed for starters, benches that you can't move because they're too heavy. Benches that act more like a fun fair ride trying to tip you off due to uneven slabbing. There are way too many tables pushed into one space, the one in the corner where you can only be a size 0 and below to even get in. The menu is very meat and fish heavy, there is only 1 vegetarian dish on the menu. Nearly everything comes with chips, however everything looks homemade. The portions are a good size for the price, the plates are a bit hit and miss. Massive and heavy plates, large plates for small puddings are a bit overkill.

My husband and I went to the Fourcross Roads last Saturday evening and we were throughly disappointed with everything there. We arrived on time and were seated in the sml room to the side , the music was really loud through the speaker and when asked it was turned down, but a few mins later someone turned if up again, the decor in this part of the pub is very dated and needs attention. The menus we were given were stained and crumpled.we ordered our food, just 2 sizzlers, and waited for it to come, after 40 mins I asked how much longer it was going to be, a Indian lady went to check and we were told it still hadn't been cooked and we were next, 15 mins later we finally got our food which was supposed to be a king prawn sizzler and a beef sizzler both with creamy garlic sauce, mushrooms, onions peppers and mixed veg, mix of rice and chips. Firstly the hot plates were so hot that the sauce had stuck to the bottom, the mix of veg was very dissapointing, lots of onion and 2 bits of mushroom, prawns were juicy but tasteless, my husbands beef was plain and chewy, rice was bland and chips were too chunky and overcooked, the sauce was more like plain cream and very little garlic if any was in it. When we went to pay the bar was soaking wet on one side so we went round the other, this was covered in plates, glasses and half filled cups of tea or coffee, it seems they had a party outside and none of this had been cleared away as the barman preceeded to ignore us and talk over our heads to a young man about clearing other things outside, eventually he took notice of us and as he got our bill asked if everything was ok my husband then told him it was the worst meal we have ever had there, he then said they were short staffed, poor excuse really for bad service and food, why do outside catering and not have enough staff to look after your restaurant customers, we also think the very wet bar and dirty crockery on it didn't look very good ! We have been to this pub several times before and mostly had a good experience, maybe it was just a bad day, but it's definitely put us off going back there...

We stumbled across this pub completely by chance after finding three other venues fully booked, and honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. What started as a ā€œlast resortā€ quickly became the highlight of our evening.

From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, setting the tone for what turned out to be a truly excellent meal. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and it was clear the team genuinely cared about making guests feel comfortable.

As for the food it far surpassed our expectations. Between us, we tried the burger, hunter’s chicken, salmon, and the sizzler, and every single dish was cooked to perfection. The burger was juicy and full of flavour, the hunter’s chicken was hearty and satisfying, the salmon was beautifully done with a lovely balance of flavours, and the sizzler was an absolute showstopper at the table. Everything tasted fresh, well-prepared, and thoughtfully put together.

This hidden gem completely won us over, and we left already talking about when we’d be back. Sometimes the best places are the ones you don’t plan, and this was definitely one of those occasions.

And we haven’t even mentioned the home made...
