Turned up just before 1pm on bank holiday monday, got a table and placed a food order. 40 minutes later, we still hadn't received our food or any apologies or explanation as to why we have yet to get out food so we approached the bar and asked them where it was to which they said they'd chase it up. Another 30 minutes passed and we once again had to enquire about the food to which the rude bar wench stated that the chef was on his own so we should expect food to be delivered slowly. (Why they have 1 chef on a bank holiday monday is beyond me)

We eventually received our food 93 minutes after first ordering. I ordered a chicken sandwich, from the many appetising options such as the pork rib sandwich, and cheeseburger. I was assured it was chicken breast. It wasn't. It was quite clearly a 99p Rustler burger that takes 2 minutes in a microwave. That's not an exagggeration, it was actually a Rustler burger. I paid just short of £6 for a few chips and a 99p burger that was past its best due to the state the bread was in although it was well glued together with the mayonaise sachet you receive with the microwave burgers. Not only that, but I had to way 90+ minutes for a 2 minute microwave burger. I'm sure trading standards would have a field day with these con artists.

As for my other parties food, they had the same complaints. Store bought, frozen foods that they've heated up and served in a dysmal fashion. It's okay when you're at a Wetherspoons, but not a local pub that serves "fresh food daily"

Do not, I repeat, do not buy anything from here. I will not be returning, nor recommending anyone to come. I'd just go to the Co-Op and buy my...

We’ve visited a few times however not for food, but have always heard good things so decided to give it a try for lunch with some friends who came to visit. Whilst the food was tasty what I have to say is do not come here hungry! Everyone at the table commented on how small the portions were! We opted for the main menu rather than lunch, my husband went for the special chicken burger and fries and the pot the fries came in wasn’t full, the kids pizza was just one slice with about 10 skinny fries luckily my child is a toddler so was enough for him but I imagine for older children it wouldn’t be enough, unfortunately once my child had eaten his meal it was clear sea salt was added to his fries, children should not have added salt any Chef should know this! Both (veg & meat) lasagna’s were incredibly served in an Incredibly small dish, I would usually serve double at home and at £13/14 for a main meal not the cheapest. We had to order an extra portion of chips to the table satisfy our appetite and unfortunately they were inedible as they were all raw inside don’t think they had been parboiled before cooking. Then to add insult to injury the diners next to us ordered from the lunch menu and the portion sizes were much bigger! We had discussed dessert but felt that it would be more of the same so decided to head elsewhere for coffee and cake. Whilst I understand times are tough in the hospitality cutting corners at the expense of your patrons is not the best business model. I since believe management and the chef have recently been changed so maybe this is the new standard, which is a shame. We won’t be...

Not a bad public house generally. Location good. Variety of ales and lagers etc. Customers are friendly and pleasant. Staff could do with a social uplift in greeting customers who visit. Seemed like there was a negative atmosphere amongst staff which impacted upon my visit. 5 visitors came to the pub same time as me and no one signed the test and trace register so good luck if there is an outbreak and being contacted. All COVID 19 signage and instructions were subtle so no wonder there was ignorance of what was expected. Sign at bar saying keep bar clear but you have to order at bar. No 2m rule at the bar or enforcement. Quite disappointed and felt undervalued as a customer and not COVID safe. Think the reliance on its popularity due to its location is taken for granted. A great shame for me and my companion. Even forgot my request for a dog bowl. Only one sign noticed to inform of social distancing more signage saying not participating in eat out to help out and sticky table which means not cleaned deep enough properly with the right solution. I have been sat for 20 minutes and just seen first person sign track and trace log given to him by...

A fantastic country pub with everything you’d want from a proper local! It’s right on the canal, and the beer garden has lovely views over the fields – the perfect spot for a drink in the sunshine. The landlord and staff are really friendly and welcoming, and it’s a great place for both families and dog owners (there are treats for the pups, which is a lovely touch). There’s a brilliant selection of drinks and snacks, plus some fun extras that make it stand out – a dart board for a bit of friendly competition, and even Lego to keep the kids entertained while you relax. A gem of a pub that manages to be both traditional and family-friendly. Definitely worth a visit!w

6 of us went for Sunday Lunch soon after opening and everyone who had beef Sunday roast said they beef tasted like it had been reheated after being frozen.... everyone’s slices of beef looked the same. We checked when ordering that mashed potatoes included and told yes but they aren’t. A member of staff serving had no idea what vegetables were included. The only decent meal was the Steak pie and chips which the person said was very tasty! All 6 said we wouldn’t eat there again and really poor customer service

Pleasant little pub, service was quick and friendly. We had to share a table with another couple waiting as the inside is very small. Good menu selection, we went with a sunday roast however we feel we should have gone with something off the menu. The food we had wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special either, I don't think we'd go for a roast again as the meat was a little tough and the potatoes were a tad dry but the steak and ale pie sounded great. All in all, it's a nice little stop along the canal.
