The Roebuck — Restaurant in Bradford

Pretty grim since they've revamped it. Booked a table online to be told the online system was down and they didn't seem to be aware of the group booking anywhere else so had to rush round to fit us in but the lady was very nice and apologetic. Ordered food later and there was barely anything left on the menu, had to come back twice to change orders from lack of stock. Chose pulled pork burger which was akin to chewing on a boot, barely any pulled pork or cheese and coleslaw which tasted so off and rancid which turned my stomach so much that I was heaving. Had to send it back and felt too sick to even want a replacement. The staff member at the bar was nice and did give me a refund straight away and offered me a free drink if I wanted it to at least try and make up but I was too sick to stay or want anything else. Staff are quite nice but not overly bothered and we did go on the Monday after the re opening on the Friday but it seems they were unprepared for the volume of people who turned up over the weekend as the staff said most food had gone because of that but there seemed to be no effort to replenish stock on the Monday as we were in there in the evening so some attempt could of been made to replenish some things in the day. Prices have been upped since the revamp yet the food quality is worse and I really wish they wouldn't serve things on chopping boards instead of plates as they are horrible cumbersome things that get in the way when trying to eat and all your food is in pots so you have to pick at everything which I know most places do now but i really wish they wouldn't because it's so fru straying. I can't enjoy my food when I'm worried about sending a polished wooden board resting on a polished wooden table flying due to lack of friction. Where do I start. The friendliness of staff soon as we walked in were upbeat and helpful straight away. I had already had a sneak preview of the menu before choosing and arriving to eat here. The service is spot on! The food was amazing! I love the fact that there is plenty of veggie (even vegan) options - they don't just have your boring salad or standard vegetable pattie. They also have a vegan options for a child's menu and I've not seen that anywhere else for such a low price too! The pricing was acceptable and affordable for the adults. I also was amazed by the fact staff were informative about a veggie option and how some things were changed and to why when choosing a vegan option (changing the chips to nachos for example) cheery atmosphere. The set up of the pub and the decor was lovely. Clean pub and quick service. A lovely treat out and will most definitely be returning to try other things from the menu and will most definitely recommend...

We really enjoyed our meal at the Roebuck today. We’ve been previously and it has changed hands a few times and we weren’t impressed with the food last time we came. But this time it was honestly so lovely. I had the roast beef baguette (see pic, such a decent portion, I’d already eaten half the baguette haha), and we also ordered a kids meal and a lighter bites fish and chips. Arrived hot, and tasted great! Lovely hearty meal. Bonus points for the little kids play section with board games, colouring etc to keep them occupied, we loved playing a game of connect 4 before the meal arrived. Also the lady who served us was really pleasant and genuine. We will definitely visit again and will encourage friends and family...
