Received a parking fine for parking on the Costa Carpark, even though I put my car registration into the machine at the front desk to get free parking over the 45 minutes that you get without putting your registration in. Stayed a hour as we had to wait in a queue for ages and ordered hot food as well as drinks. They have a private company that run the carpark for them, and you get 45 minutes free, or you have to put the registration of your car into a machine at the counter, and you then get unlimited parking over the 45 minutes. However this does not always seem to work as we were later informed by the manager of Costa. After appealing the PCN from Civil Enforcement, I was told that my appeal had been denied and the fine needed to be paid immediately. Went back to speak to the person in charge 2 weeks later after appealing penalty notice and being refused the appeal, to be told if I leave my name, address and registration number of my car they would get it sorted for me, as apparently this happens quite often, and to not worry about it. Two weeks later, received a much higher charge, stating I had not paid it and if I didn't pay £170 that enforcement would be sent to collect it!! The most expensive coffee I've ever had!! Not paid it and involved legal people to help get it sorted, but be aware that even complying with Costa's permit parking, you still run the chance of being sent a ridiculous parking charge. It seems that the Costa team done absolutely nothing to sort this mess out as promised. I will no longer use any Costa Coffee establishment, and want to warn others to be careful of parking at a Costa Coffee establishment, or your coffee could Costa whole lot more...
Read moreAt 12 NOON on Saturday 27/11/21 we tried to go in for coffee, found the door locked, only 4 customers inside & 4 members of staff staring SMUGLY at us from within (I say smugly as that was exactly the expression). They had clearly decided to batten down the hatches, lock the door and ignore anyone trying to get in. No more work for the day after 12 noon!!!
When 2 of the customers inside decided to leave, we held the door open & entered. We were met with dead cold and quite rude stares from the staff (almost ‘how dare you find a way in’), but no explanation or acknowledgement that we have been standing out in the freezing cold wind and rain for almost 10 minutes wondering how to get in - while they stood and watched on. There was certainly no notice on the door. We were then ignored for over 20 minutes standing there at the till, again receiving angry stares from the 4 staff (who were working VERY slowly on orders for the drive-thru). We were made to feel very uncomfortable. All we wanted was a coffee. This has got to be the worst service experience I’ve ever received in any shop ever. How people like this can keep a job I do not know, and as for the duty manager, 2 words the team should perhaps learn:...
Read moreBad experience today. Been here several times, mostly ok with 1 bad takeaway before. Today we ordered the meal deal coffee and toasties. Ordered to stay in which was ignored as order came in take away cups and bags. Coffees were barely luke warm which i've never had at any coffee shop so sent those back. New ones made were fine. Opening up toastie outside - one side was toasted as in window on packaging on counter that we brought up, the other side was a soggy inedible mess. I went in to say about this feeling bad as second issue and was told thats how we are shown to do them. So you have half a toasty and half plain soggy bread? Left hungry and going somewhere else to eat and will not buy food at a costa again. (Have also seen in several Costas with flys crawling on baked goods as open backed cases which is a major put off to food purchases and something for the chain as a whole to address ) Have to say the experience today showed a lack of training or...
