Rani's Indian Dining — Restaurant in Breckland District

What a pleasure to find such a high class restaurant in a quite place like Yaxham.

Rani's Indian Dining is only a mile from my holiday accommodation and is on the road from where we are staying to Dereham. Having passed it a few times during the first week here we decided to try it and were very pleased.

The service was charming and impeccable, the welcome warm and the food delightful.

We started with Papodoms and chutneys and really loved the lime chutney. We continued with Prawn Puri and Aloo Chat both were delightful and served with a beautiful puri.

Our mains were Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Bahari both were delicious with that complex layer of flavours so resonate of good Indian food.

We had pilau rice and keema naan and garlic naan to accompany our meal. They were lovely.

The food is absolutely fantastic! I've been twice, once with my Wife and child and the food and service was faultless. However the second time was with a party of 14, the food was fantastic as usual but they struggled with a large table on a Saturday night. We had to ask them to take our food and drink order after 20 minutes. Then the food took an hour and 25 minutes to appear at our table despite us asking 3 times where the food was. Our table was booked for 8pm, our food arrived at 9.45pm. Not acceptable, hence 3 stars.

Booked a meal out here for a family birthday and thoroughly disappointed! First of all, when we ordered the mains they were assumed to all be tikka'd, we weren't told they'd come out tikka'd and weren't given the option to not have it cooked that way! One of the meals, the lamb was like chunks of rock and had to be sent back, the korma had squirty cream on top of it and it had melted. The service was ok, but the waiter ignored us everytime we asked him for a drink or for an extra plate or any other small request. Not Impressed at all and won't...
