We had our wedding day celebration here as part of a three day event. And we really don’t know where to start…
After a long day of looking at wedding venues across Norfolk we came to the pub to debrief. The Brisley Bell has always been more to us than just a pub. It’s a really special place for us - and our favourite place to visit when we’re back home from London.
During our meal we looked around and one of us said - ‘why don’t we just get married here?’ We made the best decision by doing this… we really recommend The Brisley Bell!
The venue was absolutely incredible and with the help of some (amazing) suppliers it was transformed into a wedding dream! Laura & The Bell management were really flexible and collaborative with helping to make our vision come to life! We had a marquee on the lawn garden for the meal but other parts of the venue became special areas for throughout the day, including the tree patio which became cocktail hour - saxophone chill area… the willow tree had our string quartet playing underneath (so romantic!) and a floral covered swing… and the dining room became our bookcase & artwork lined dance floor for the band & evening celebrations… It honestly felt like it was designed for our special day!
It was also extra special that there was such a wide selection at the bar later on. Many guests enjoyed whiskey and one person remarked on how nice it was to be able to have a nice port! It’s not usually the case at your average wedding... a huge benefit of celebrating at the pub!
Special thank yous:
Thank you to Amelia and Marcus for allowing us to have their beautiful pub for the day. And for being open to our ideas!
THE FOOD - thank you to Herve and team. SO many of our guests kept saying how amazing the food was.
THE DRINKS - Anthony thank you for going above and beyond on the cocktails. The bar was such a special touch on the patio.
LAURA - thank you for your wonderful support in the build up and on the day.
Thank you to ALL of the Brisley Bell team. We’ll be back for a celebratory pint...
Read moreWe recently hosted our wedding at the Bell for 65 guests and could not recommend this pub more for weddings; a delicious meal; a luxury overnight stay; or, a chilled drink in their beautiful garden.
The whole experience, from arriving in our luxurious rooms on the Friday night, to our relaxed and easy checkout on the Sunday morning, was simply outstanding. The staff, the beauty of the pub and its extraordinary gardens allowed us to have the most perfect wedding!
To all of the staff, a huge thank you! We received so many compliments about how helpful, intuitive and available the staff were - there was not a single point throughout the whole weekend where we needed to “go and find someone”. There was always someone close to hand, with a smile on their face, ready to help. The team ensured that everything ran like clockwork.
The food was incredible and our guests are in still in raptures about how delicious and beautifully presented it was. We are incredibly grateful to Herve for delivering our “posh BBQ” (lobster Salad and flat iron steak and ribs) to the highest possible standard and already cannot wait to taste his food again. He absolutely blew our (and our guests') socks off with the quality of his food.
If you are considering hosting a wedding in Norfolk and are looking for a relaxed and informal day without compromising on quality or ‘wow-factor’, look no further than the Bell. Laura and her team delivered the wedding of our dreams. Not a single thing went wrong and it felt like we were floating on a cloud the entire day which is a testament to the meticulously planning, eye for detail and incredible management by...
Read moreHi, unfortunately I feel in need to post this review after my very displeasing experience in this place.
I went there at about 6p.m to eat and drink something. I was expecting for something pretty okay counting the price but the quality was even less than mediocre: I think I'm not the best at evaluating food but the day earlier I bought some frozen meat at a mall for 1/4 of price and it tasted at least 3 times better.
Anyway I wanted to close an eye on it and ordered some beer, hoping that it'd save my evening and let me forget about food.
I was so wrong doing that decision, I should've walked away. when I got served my beer, I heard and saw a man probably in early fifties with dark hair and country clothes screaming at some workers, I'm pretty sure it was either the owner or a manager.
I can't believe he treated his workers that bad, I got so mad I wanted to just throw my chair in the air along with the table and go away without paying.
I can close an eye for food, I could even close an eye about prices, but the is absolutely no way in the world I can accept someone that treats their workers so badly.
Of course I didn't even take a sip of my drink, I cleaned my face, delicately got up from the chair, and gave a very direct stare into that man's eyes and as soon as he saw me, no words came out of his mouth anymore.
I walked up to him and said:"Thanks for the meal, and I truly hope that you'll get treated the same way you've treated those people".
Placed the bill money on a table in front of him and walked away.
You have earned my reward as top place where to never ever come back again. Goodbye and never seeing you...
