The Shoulder of Mutton — Restaurant in Broadland

Pre-Wedding Supper for 23 people Couldn't have been better! Tasty Veggie Curry, delicious Chicken Curry and a really yummy country Cottage Pie all given the thumbs up by my husband (retired Chef). Hospitality was faultless and no-one went home hungry. What a wonderful start to the weekend. They went out of their way to cater for all tastes and even added some extras. The red cabbage could have been a dish on its own! Served buffet style they could have left us to it but the cheerful waiting staff kept an eye on us helping out where needed. The chocolate cheesecake and lemon tart were a real hit. We won't be waiting for another party - we will definitely be revisiting The Shoulder of Mutton again.

(Three of us went for a meal a couple of weeks before this to see what the food was like. Fish and chips was 'ace' - fresh, tasty and really generous portions. Great place to take hungry teenage boys!)

A Proper country pub with amazing staff and and consistently good food. It occurred to me today , after speaking to my hairdresser recommending the shoulder of mutton for food , that I had not ever left a review. I also decided to pop down for dinner this evening. I had game sausages with bubble and squeak and my partner had Thai green chicken curry. Both full of flavour , good portions , and very tasty. For desert we shared a rhubarb and pear crumble and custard , again , a good size , and delicious. We stayed nearby for 4 nights and ate here for 3 of them. The food was fantastic we had tapas, steak, jerk chicken, salmon and kids meals we couldnt fault any of it! Staff were friendly and we even bought a clock from the gents loo as you do! It's not often you can find a local pub that serves a good selection of ales, you can watch a test match enjoy a really good steak, and come home with a suit of armour! Kids and dogs welcome too and the wife was even happy reading a book from the shelf! If we are in the area again we will definitely pay another...
