I do a lot of travel around the country on a weekly basis and eat regularly in Beefeaters, more out of necessity really than choice and haven’t felt the need to comment negatively or indeed positively as the food is just what it is (Food) nothing more and nothing less . In my opinion not really requiring a positive review or indeed negative either way . Thing is that today is my second day here and I’ve eaten twice ; once yesterday and once today and if the food had been poor just the one day I would have let it slide; but as the food was again really poor on day two this somewhat convinced me that it’s worth posting my experience. Yesterday my salad (Lettuce) was brown ; literally the whole bowl was just off . When mentioned it was acknowledged that it looked really bad and that was pretty much it . The food itself was in my opinion just a mess and tasted utterly greasy and my colleague also experienced the same as we ate together. Today I stupidly tried again ; again out of more of an eating necessity as I’m in the area for a while and again the food is meager and just (without swearing) - Total Junk. What actually happened to Beefeater ? When did it start to not give a crap about the food they put on a plate or indeed serve up without any kind of quality check for brown , rotten salad and greasy food . It’s a shame as it once had a relatively good name . I would not recommend the food here at all, as in my opinion, there is virtually no care given to what is actually sent out to customers. On reflection , Im actually a little angry I paid good money for very poor quality food . Nightmare Oh and if you look closely at the image of todays food and blow it up ; you maybe able to spot the brown peas too

On arriving, we were asked to buy a drink at the bar, while they found us a table... 🤔 Strange when there were only 2 tables being used.... I noticed the bar was very tacky & sticky... Then we were shown to our table, i noticed the stained material on our chairs... Then there was food on the floor around our table & under our feet..... The table was again tacky & sticky.... Also food on other chairs in the restaurant, The bar had food and drinks splashed down it... The radiator & skirting should have been white, but was full of dirty marks... The waiter came to take our order, so i asked why the place is so dirty, with food everywhere, he replied its from breakfast, & looked at me, as if it was the normal thing there, I quickly replied, well we won't be eating in here & left... Iv never eaten there before & i most certainly never will... Absolutely filthy place, if this is what they expect people to eat in, what must their hygiene in their kitchen be like.... Why would anyone eat food there...

Disregarding the food (inedible), everyone working appeared to have a very deep, chesty cough and no inclination to cover their mouths. Not only this but the mens, womens and disabled toilets had no soap. I reported this much to the staff's disinterest. Not filled for the hour we were at the restaurant. To the best of my knowledge these are the only toilets which means staff could not be keeping any sort of hygiene routine. I have raised this with Whitbread directly who responded with a boilerplate response. This used to be my choice for hosting business customers, rest assured it will no longer be. Attached picture is the 'Cheddar, Mozzarella & Emmental Cheese fondue with balasmic onion confit and toasted ciabatta' which even visually, you can tell is nowhere near the truth. Everything else was worse. PS. Not the main issue here but the wi-fi doesn't work even if you pay for it and there is no 4G

Updated 16\06\24 went in for breakfast. Was busy as fathers day but service was much better than last time we did wait longer than expected for food nearly an hour but again it was busy so we.accept that. Food was decent black pudding though was horrible so mushy and not tasty. Bacon needed to see the heat for a awhile.longer as it was literally at the entry point for cooked well at least close anyway. Bar that pleasant experience this time around

Started bad and never recovered. We walked in and made our way to where the server was standing to be seated. As we approached she walked off even though she had seen us and was gone for a few mins leaving us standing waiting. When we were finally seated the restaurant area was clean and tidy with a few diners already seated and eating. The server didn't particularly seem happy to be there and there was no conversation or chit chat even when we mentioned that it was our daughter's birthday there was no happy birthday or anything. When we ordered we clearly asked for our starters to come out with the mains as not all of the party was having starters and it was mainly garlic bread. Not long after the server came to the table and said your starters are ready would we like them now or should they send out with them main still.. this was quite alarming as we now had to decide whether to accept our starters or leave them sitting whilst our mains were prepared. We decided to wait and in fairness it was only five or so minutes until our mains were delivered. Unfortunately I had asked for hot sauce on my starter (wings) but was served BBQ wings instead. I requested them to be changed and the server took them away to the kitchen. She then returned and asked if I just wanted them to add some hot sauce in them or do they have to make fresh ones! Yes I would like fresh ones as I don't want both sauces in my wings. It was the last time that the server came to my table. At no point was I rude or impolite to her but for some reason she passed us across to another server who brought my fresh wings and apologized but also in a very miserable manner I'm not sure why they both were so down but it really didn't make the atmosphere inviting or pleasant. The manager served our drinks and. Same as other times we have visited he was friendly chatty and genuine. The food was good and everything was as expected so can't complain about that at all. When we was ready for the bill I raised my hand and tried to car h the attention of the server multiple times whilst she stood near the kitchen. Finally as she was walking across the room she saw my attempt and literally mouthed the words what do you want across the room and other diners! Making me have to request the bill buly shouting it a Ross the room. Why could she not have not acknowledged Me and made her way to my table to see what I needed? She gave me my bill and I place my card on the tray and waited. And waited and waited. I know she looked over numerous times and saw my card into of the bill so it was clear I was ready to pay but instead of approaching she found different jobs to complete. Finally she processed my bill and walked off . We readied ourselves to leave and made our way out as we approached to pass her I went to say goodbye but she just hurried passed without a word. Really not nice service at all As we approached the door the manager was behind us and he made the effort to say goodbye and wished us a great evening to which we returned the gesture Such a shame as whenever we have been in the past the servers have been friendly and chatty.

Will I return?. I'm not sure the food was good but the experience was rubbish

Was it good value for money? It cost more than I expected but it's properly at the upper end of ok

Would I recommend to friends or family? In good conscience I couldn't after...

Got there at 930ish pm on Monday night after taking kids to the safari park down the road, so was looking forward to some decent food, what a complete let down it was. Our 11yr old is a little fussy, even with his burgers as he does not like anything at all on the burger, not even sauce, so explained that all he wanted was the burger in the bun, no sauce , no cheese, no trimmings l, so explained that to the staff, you would think really that they would of had the decency to not charge me £12+ for it. May be we should not have such a fussy son some would think? So wont moan too much there, but our daughters main meal, the Gammon and pineapple, was that bad that she was physically sick as we got into the car outside!!! Just from looking at it on the plate it was obvious that it had been cooked in fat that was beyond its usage, it was covered in old black fatty bits either, could do with either cleaning your griddle/oil out a bit more, it was not much better than a greasy spoon café bit of streaky bacon, an considering food cooked on a griddle/grill should have less fat, it was swimming in it, to the point of when she tried to soak up some of the fat with a paper napkin that was saturated within a second of her picking the Gammon Steak up. and covered in old black bits of other food that had been cooked previously. The Triple cooked chips I had, also pointed to the fact that when they cook food they obviously use the same appliances, no probs with that as long as when you order your food you don't get the remains of the last lot of food that cooked, as my triple fried chips were a menagerie of, skinny fires and chunky chips, again some might say that I am being picky, but I like to get what ui am paying for not what the previous diner had!!!! for the price,it came to over £50, it was poor show, and I am not even going to mention the customer service, as it is endemic throughout the UK, that it is as...

What can I say except Thank you! We visited first on Monday 10th October for dinner while staying across the road in the premier inn. We were exhausted after arriving straight from a day in West Midlands Safari, but we’re seated straight away and made to feel so comfortable. The waitress was beyond lovely. She asked about our day and chatted with our children, and made such a fuss when we said it was our eldest sons 3rd birthday the following day, hence our visit. We realised whilst there that we’d forgotten to stop off on our way to the hotel from the safari for some whole milk for our youngest to have before bed, and when we asked about where we could go, without hesitation she asked for her bottle and filled it for us, which in itself was just so kind and that kindness made our trip. We said good night on leaving and said see you in the morning for breakfast. When we did return the following morning, we found that they had so thoughtfully remembered that it was our sons birthday. We arrived to find the table had been decorated with banners and balloons, a card signed from the team and a gift for him. Just amazing. This small gesture meant so much. I was so worried being away the morning of his birthday we wouldn’t be able to make his birthday as special as we wanted, but my goodness did they do that for us!!! But it didn’t stop there. After we’d eaten, they brought over a muffin with candles lit and happy birthday written on the plate in chocolate sauce, and proceeded to sing happy birthday with us. Our son was delighted and so we’re we. Thank you to every single member of staff, thank you so so much! You all made his birthday morning and we are so grateful for the kindness you all showed. Aside from that, the food(breakfast and dinner) was lovely, and we couldn’t fault...
