We unfortunately went on a rainy day (before indoors seating was allowed) and so had been called a few hours before our booking to ask if we wanted to cancel as theres no heaters/ shelters etc which was fair but we had plans to meet friends as a central location so this made things really tricky for us for rearrangements so we asked if we could contact our friends to discuss and call back. We decided to try it and if it was no good then we'd go, we rang back with no answer or option to voicemail just redirected to do something unhelpful although I can't remember what. We didn't get a call back. When we arrived we put our masks on and went to enter to speak to staff to check ourselves in but were promptly met with a raised voice and a confronting open palm saying stop! You can't come in here go back outside! The huge sign at the door said to wear masks when entering, implying entry was ok in order to check in, which in line with xovid guidelines it absolutely is allowed so I don't know why we were so abruptly and rudely made to leave upon barely stepping foot through the porch door. I was taken back by the lack of organisation to arrange heaters and umbrellas this far into the covid world, not even towels or blankets, so many places have put all these in place to keep guests coming but this one has done nothing. There were no other guests there, the guy who waited us was attentive but advised they were planning to send home the chef dependant on our decision to order food with our lunch reservation which was fair enough, so, with it being so pants, we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. I have not been to this place before and it looked (from the outside) to have a nice sizeable pub garden and I had checked out the menu online before hand and thought nothing negative about it. Which is a huge shame because I was looking forward to going there but have been put off quite...

I bring my 5 year old daughter here at least once a week, the staff are amazing and treat her like their own! The food is nice and a break from having to do the cooking is always welcome, the menu has changed recently and isn't as varied as the old one but still really nice (the crab linguini and homemade lasagne are really nice) my little girl loves the fish and chips. Can always get a table even if we haven't booked. 5star service and staff, the cocktails are amazing and made from scratch, none of that canned nonsense(Espresso Martini is by far the best!). Have read some of the negative reviews and can hand on heart say I cannot relate...I come here once if not twice a week and have done for the past 5 years and have NEVER had a bad experience, two meals I didn't like but only because of personal preference. Would recommend to anyone of all ages/couples/girl dates and family occasions, they cater...

Visited last weekend when there was a reduced menu with my partner and his Nan. I've been to Prince of Wales before and usually the service is a lot more efficient but I can understand it was a stressful time for the pub.

Despite having only roasts and a couple of dishes, the Roast Beef was really nice - very reasonable, perfect large portion size and drenched in lots of gravy, just the way I like my roasts. The Yorkshire pudding was one of the largest I've ever eaten. Pub has a great beer garden to have a couple of drinks and socialise. On this occasion the service was slow however the staff were super friendly and knocked the drinks off our bill which we were immensely grateful for.

I'm dropping one star just because the cauliflower cheese didn't taste that great but other than this everything was fine minus the drama about the ovens not working and orders not being...

We popped in to reconnect with dear friends (post lock down). I'm so glad we chose here as our place to reconnect. Mitch was the most wonderful staff member. She gave us recommendations on the menu (hint, have the Buddha Bowl!) And told us some amusing anecdotes. Honestly, she felt like part of our group by the end of our lunch. My friend had the Jam Sponge and Custard (photograph), reminiscent of 70s school dinners, yet I hasten to add much more refined!! Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch. I recommend eating here for anyone looking in the area. The pub is a chain pub, but the menu is full of vegetarian and vegan options. Service exceeds expectations, of course.

Used to be me and my friend go to pub until I moved, but the staff in there are really lovely, they have refurbished in there and it looks incredible, the food is to die for especially the chicken and bacon burger! There food has improved a lot as well since the first time and last time I went in there! Keep up the good job! Good with the price of money

Came to this pub for a Sunday lunch with my family. We all had a Roast dinner which was very poor, the beef was tough and over cooked, potatoes were so hard as if they were kept in a hot held for hours or recooked and the side of cauliflower cheese was very bland and lacked taste and cheese. A big let down.
