Called here fri evening 6pm & the place was virtually empty. Poppadoms arrived within a minute, quite standard fayre, the pickles were the minimum in quality, quantity & variety. Chicken puree starter was different, the chicken wasn't in a mild curry sauce as is the norm, but still tasted decent. The 3 'lamb' chop starter was awful, the meat was not fresh, 60% of this dish was uneaten. The main of saag ghost (upon ordering I clarified that it was lamb) was truly ghastly, the 'lamb' was inedible, 95%of this dish was left. The chicken tika main, chicken dry, rice barely warm(slightly worrying if reheated) the medium curry sauce was tasty, we shared this one dish. Garlic naan bread had a piece of unmelted garlic butter in the middle & was average. Chapati OK though quite thick and dense. After the table was cleared we were given the mandatory hot towel and not asked if would like to see the desert menu. I caught the eye of two staff over the next ten minutes but non arrived at our table. We therefore approached the bar & paid our bill at a fraction over £50 which included two cobra & a diet coke. Whilst the staff were friendly and polite they at no point asked if our food was OK. Even more shocking is that there is no correlation between staff and chefs.... There are large quantities of uneaten food going back into their kitchen and this didn't ring alarm bells, basic golden rules. We left very disappointed and I hungry.

Fantastic food, great atmosphere. This was really really busy when we went on Saturday night, with a few large parties. We were shown straight to our table, drinks brought in a timely manner. I ordered one popadom with chutney tray as partner "doesn't do Indian food". He was brought his fried chicken and chips to eat while I was on my starter. They gave me an extra popadom free of charge so I made my partner try it with onions on, he did but wasn't impressed. My Chicken Dansak came shortly afterwards. Again my partner tried a bit of my garlic naan dipped in my curry, but again preferred his meal. I however thought my curry was beautiful. As it was busy after our main meal we were kind of abandoned. No desert menu brought to us, or any offers of coffee or further drinks. But we sat chatting and after about 40 minutes decided it was time to go. I waved at a waiter who did then come over and I requested the bill. Less than £20 per head, so very happy with that. They have a large car park around the back which is very handy.

Went for their Sunday buffet. You get to choose from a selection of main meals. I had mixed masala which TBH had a lot food colouring but lacked flavour. The day we visited the weather was appalling and the conservatory was out of action due to leaks. Also, it seemed like the main heating was out of action as portable gas heaters were in use - these heaters do have a gassy smell. All in all the food was hot on a cold winters day, so hit the spot all at a reasonable price for what you get. Would we go again? I’m afraid not, in preference it’s the Agra for us - sorry.

The Usha Restaurant restaurant usually does a great sunday buffet to takeaway for a very generous price and I've ordered quite frequently given how close I live to it and can go and pick it up, sometimes having a pint at the bar.

I ordered what I usually order (chicken tikka madras) and a side of massala sauce for my wife, however, there was a mix up in the order (which I accept can happen) and I ended up with a chicken tikka massala as well.

I have a severe nut allergy and i've avoided chicken tikka massala's all my life because I know they are usually made with almonds. I rang Usha back after bringing my curry home and he confirmed he had wrote down a chicken tikka massala and a massala sauce, but added "you ordered this, I took your order". I confirmed I didn't because I know it usually has nuts in it and they confirmed theirs did but the person taking my order refused to apologise and reluctantly said "we will make you a madras, come down and get it". I could've died.

I believe integrity goes a long way in business, it shows you are human and want to do the right thing and I would've accepted an apology and made sure I asked them to read back my order the next time I would've gone for a curry however, blaming customers for mistakes they have made is unacceptable unfortunately.

I've previously left reviews about them using the same knife for cutting cake with and without nuts in - there is clearly a lack of care here and it will not be long before someone dies as a result.

We will no longer be visiting this place and warn others to consider their allergies...

We went to the Usha a few times while the Government “Eat Out to Help Out” scheme was on and was obviously during the Coronavirus outbreak. The restaurant could not have done more in my option to keep its clientele safe; unfortunately, people still ignored the hand sanitation station as they walked into the restaurant. The food was delicious every time we went. Unfortunately, we all tended to stick to the same dishes when we went as we liked them so much - We really must be more adventurous next time.

We especially enjoyed the Usha Special Punjab Platter. A good mix of starters, including chops, Onion Bhajies and King Prawns amongst other things.

We chose our meals mainly from the “Chefs Signature Dishes” Rajshahi Amla is a good, tasty alternative to a Korma if you are not into your good spicy! Chingri Murgh Mele – Very Flavourful but with only a bit of heat and absolutely delicious Hash Mishty Dok - Again, not too hot, but bursting with flavour

The one thing that Usha do better than anyone else is their Lemon Rice – It is the best I have ever tasted!

The restaurant is tastefully decorated, the staff attentive without being over bearing.

Overall it is definitely five...
