Wellington — Restaurant in Bury

Really disappointed on the visit after a couple of great visits . Party of 4 to dine in the afternoon on the 20th of September at 1 o'clock. . Lady severing was rushed off her feet so absolutely no criticism there . We sat down to dine nice pleasant atmosphere. No problem up to now . Then the food arrived. 4 starters 2 portions of garlic bread with cheese. These 2 portions were raw bread underneath and threatened with a grill on the top . So under cooked . Garlic Mushrooms were OK. Personally I had chicken strips . Bland mayo and strips ,looked like a sea of blandness . . On to the mains. 2 portions of fish and chips. Soggy fish inside on both oshes and a battered that my wife described as slightly rubbery ?? . I ordered a mixed grill . Wow . Were to start . ? Everything that could go wrong with a mixed grill did. Ordered rare came medium. Chicken dry . Gammon over salted . Tomato raw . Bitter onion taste under the meats . To add insult to injury a vegetarian sausage that tasted like raw black pudding final dinner ordered chip shop curry chicken strips . Not going into detail but raw chilli , Curry sauce consistency of thick wallpaper paste . . So disappointed. I wanted to give a 2 star because the waitress was fantastic but nobody ever...

Last minute decision to eat here on fathers day. Wish we hadn’t bothered. We regularly visit here but unlikely we will again, the food was not up to the usual standard, steak was fatty, gammon was fatty, chips over cooked, flatbread was dry - i could go on. There were people vaping inside, this is the first time in all my visits I have seen people vaping inside. I did approach a member of staff to ask if this is normal and she said it was at the discretion of the manager. This was extremely disappointing to hear, we had someone on the table next to us vaping whilst we were eating. Unlikely to visit again which is a shame when it’s our local! UPDATE - I have received feedback from Greeneking customer relations who advise vaping inside their establishments is not permitted! Shame they don’t follow this...

Food was OK when it finally arrived... went with my hubby and our good friend... all food was ordered at the same time just paid separately... he had finished his food and my hubby went to the bar and asked if ours was coming out or not... Ellie the waitress said she'd go and chase it up.. no apology just chase it up... 5 minutes later she returned with 2 plates of food for us... again no apology just asked if there was anything else we would like.... HELLO? Some decent customer service would gave been enough...
