Myself and my partner travelled an hour round trip to come for food as we had seen so many good reviews. We did not make a reservation for the restaurant which is our mistake. When we arrived we spoke to the owner who told us it was a 40 minute wait for a table, we were happy to wait as it had already taken us 30 minutes to get there. Fortunately, the manager of the restaurant managed to squeeze us in within 5 minutes of us being told there would be a wait. I ordered a carbonara which was nice. My partner ordered the pan seared lamb which the waitress then took to the kitchen and came back to tell us there was no Hake, which is a completely different meal, my partner then confirmed that he had ordered lamb and the waitress then said oh sorry the lamb. We then waited 25 minutes for our order. My order was correct however they brought my partner pan seared Hake which he is not what he ordered. The waitress apologised and said that it was her fault and she would take this back and ask the kitchen to make Lamb. She then must’ve spoken to the kitchen and the restaurant manager as he came over and tried to make out that my partner has ordered the Hake, which he then again explained what had happened with the waitress and that he does not like fish and would prefer to have them make the lamb. The manager changed his tune and said it will take too long to make the lamb you can have a pizza instead and brought the menu back over. My partner did not want to have a pizza and felt pressured to have this meal as we were told the kitchen would be closing soon. However, I don’t understand that if we were to have waited the 40 minutes for the table and we had ordered the lamb and carbonara then the kitchen would’ve been open as this whole interaction happened within 40 minutes of us being seated…so he blatantly lied to our faces. I was extremely disappointed with the service and would not recommend coming here for a date night. This experience completely ruined our night and I was extremely annoyed for the rest of the date night. My partner still kindly paid the £50 bill. If I was him I would’ve refused to pay for the poor standard of service. He paid for the pizza he was practically forced to order as he was so hungry he ate it anyway. I am appalled at the blatant lies and trying to spin this issue on the customer. I will not go back to this...

I can only describe this as the worst place I have ever stayed. From the pictures, you think wow from the interior to the view but when you get there my god what a nightmare. ||||Check-in is at the restaurant and we were stood there 20 minutes before we were noticed we were then shown our room by the rudest woman ever slammed key in our hand and said there is your room. The room was filthy various stains on the curtains and wall the toilet was hanging off and the lake view room was a view of the beer garden which was full of kids running round in dirty nappies and every table full with empty plates and glasses. ||||After finding a staff member to ask to be moved rooms which took 30 minutes and 5 staff before someone decided to help so on too room 2 which was the smallest room ever you could shower watch tv and use the toilet at the same time. ||||We decided to go for food which was ok apart for the wait between courses due to the waiting staff spending time with the locals and ignoring the visiting guests after eating we asked to be moved rooms again and this time we were moved to what they called their honeymoon suite well trust me anybody who has booked that as a honeymoon suite will no longer be married. ||||There were empty biscuits packets behind the drawers cobwebs all over and a million dead flies on the interior of the door when I went to find somebody to help with the flies it turns out there is nobody there on a night, not one staff member which was shocking, to say the least. ||||We were told breakfast was at 7:30 am well after going down at 7:30 then 8 then 8:30 and finding no staff and no chef and all the kitchen in darkness it was evident breakfast was off the menu when I finally found a staff member at 9 who was just the cleaner she informed me the chef was not in till 9:30 well what happened to 7.30. ||||Avoid this...

When my friend booked me to stay for two nights at this place (in two different rooms), I arrived and parked up (good, easy parking available) and felt thoroughly confused. As far as I could tell from the outside, Casa was a restaurant, and a restaurant only. There was no mention outdoors (that I could see, so even if there was, it clearly isn't obvious enough) that there are any rooms here ! But there are. Not more than fifteen, though.

The rooms won't win any awards (as an example, there was not a single hanger in mine on the second night and there was no desk or anything to work at in either room) but they are clean and decent enough, and the complementary toiletries and biscuits are a nice touch. The best thing was the 'breakfast box' which they leave outside your room the night before and you can depart with in the morning. Nice. (And tasty pain au chocolat !) That's good because the place was shut up each morning I left (before 0830), so I guess they don't do breakfast. I posted the room key through the letterbox at the front, although I had received no instruction to do so.

The reason I decided to write this review was to compliment them for the restaurant side of things. It overlooks the river/lake delightfully with much pleasant outdoor seating which must be super in the warmer months. The staff here are absolutely lovely. All the servers (male and female) make direct eye contact and SMILE (which is particularly unusual given the age of some of the younger members of the team); they are attentive and seem to genuinely care. (Orlando's customer service skills are particularly impressive.) And the quality of the food was much better than I was expecting.

All in all, a surprisingly pleasant stay. Well done all...

My sister and I went on a lovely lunch date to Casa Brighouse yesterday. We were greeted by a lovely staff member who was working in the bar area. We picked a comfy spot in the bar area. Another staff member (I think the manager) took our order. This person was also really lovely and had general chit chat with us whilst talking about our food. Both staff members were a credit to Casa! We were treated so well. We didn't have to wait long for our food to begin arriving. We order the garlic and cheese pizza, meat feast pizza and fries. The garlic and cheese arrived first and the garlic smell hit me straight in the face.. it smelled amazing! It also tasted amazing! We asked for our meat feast to have the ham on one side and the pepperoni on the other as my sis isn't keen on pepperoni but I love it! They were more than happy to do this for us, which we felt was really kind of them. The pizza was delish! As were the fries! We were shocked at the generous portions and didnt manage to finish everything. However, that meant my sister could take the remaining pizza for her lunch at work today. Throughout our meal we were checked on a perfect amount without feeling overwhelmed. We even had a giggle about the fact that we were asked by the staff member just as we took a mouthful 🤣 isn't that always the way?! 🤣 The cost of the meal (plus 1 half pint of lager and 2 Pepsi drinks) was £38 which we feel was excellent value for money. It is a really relaxing environment and we enjoyed our lunch and some quality time. We will definitely return. The staff member who served us our food was really lovely. The whole experience was really lovely. Thank you for looking after us so well and for being so accommodating. See you next time ❤️

Stayed here for one night in the honey moon suite. Even though the hotel is lovely the room is quite dated and not the best cleanliness. Room- No bedside tables, no lamps, the television is very dated also no Netflix and not the best picture. The blinds well there’s no point shutting them as they let just as much light in. Had to ask staff for a bed sheet to cover the blinds for the morning and to allow us to watch tv without the sun beaming on it through the window. Cobwebs all over corner of windows and room, also pointed this out to staff member. Booked a meal for 6.30pm was told we would have to wait until the 2 bookings of 20 had done or we would be waiting along time for our meal to come, didn’t really bother us as we just had another drink but not very professional customer service. The meal- Starter lovely had prawns and the katsu chicken. Mains terrible. Had fillet steak stated it came with chunky chips but didn’t came with small fries I pointed this out the waitress took them back started eating them at the front of the kitchen with the chef in a busy restaurant but ordered us some Chunky ones very disappointed they came and looked light yellow like they had hardly been cooked, not fresh like from a freezer. My partners meal we asked for this medium rare- it was rare by this point I had just given up complaining. Hardly ate any of the meal and went back to our rooms still hungry, of course after this we didn’t bother with breakfast the next day. We did complain and we did get a discount on our meal which was right to do so seeing as we hardly ate any of it. Staff. The lady on the bar masie was really lovely and couldn’t do enough for us and tried to resolve any issues best she could.

We had a few drinks before restaurant opened. As we were hungry we asked for a few packets of crisps, well the hole box of crisps were out of date, from February! Went into restaurant had a meat board to share, it said it comes with some red bell peppers stuffed with cheese but none of them were on the board. Well just parma ham, chorizo and salame (a bit black) from a packet from lidl (maybe). For main we wanted steak and the waiter told me to get it with the stone that is so good and I told him I already had one on stone but today I wanted cooked by the chef, well he insisted on getting the stone so I went for it. When the main came he just brought my steak cooked as i asked and just said there's no stones. We asked for a few sauces and side dishes. Firstable, I think putting a drizzle of balsamic vinegar on the plate and then on top the steak, no way! Then we asked for a chimichurri sauce that was nothing to do with it, it tasted like BBQ sauce with some veg chopped. It is just herbs, lemon and oil sauce. Not a brown thick sauce with chunks of i don't know what it was! Mushroom and peppercorn sauce were just ok, clearly they bought them. To finish I wanted an espresso martini so I asked another waiter and he came back saying oh we have espresso but we haven't got martini. I just asked the bill cause i was terrified anyone know what was an espresso martini when they've got a fancy bar outside the restaurant. I would recommend it for drinks at the bar.
