The only remaining pub in Luddenden, the Lord Nelson ("the Nelly" to locals) is one of the best and friendliest pubs I've ever been to. The regulars can be a little noisy from time to time and the "banter" a little brisk but, as a gay couple, we were welcomed into the village in the kindest and warmest way by everyone. We love it here and consider ourselves regulars now. Mondays and Fridays are usually the busiest nights, with good beer and a wide range of other drinks. In the small room behind the bar, there were board games and lots of local history on the wall.
Next door church is full of history and has a huge graveyard around the back, with rambling walk along the river towards Jerusalem Farm - highly recommend- and Cat āIth Well pub.

Lovely interior, some real effort has gone into making it feel cosy and traditionally 'countrified'. Some nice wall hangings and the beer garden is a delight.
