We had the privilege of getting married at Moorlands. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and with nice weather we were able to make full use of the inside and outside facilities. Megan and Molly were our wedding planners and were both absolutely amazing. They managed the ceremony without any hiccups. Then managed the food service quietly, professionally, seamlessly and with absolute precision. The food was outstanding and many guests commented it was the nicest meal they have had. The day flowed into the night, with a slight hiccup as our first live act was delayed. This was arranged by us so the venue was not responsible for this. However the DJ who is the house DJ didn’t really do much to keep the guests occupied or get them fired up ready for the acts so there was a short lul. We did ask that he avoid this but he didn’t do that successfully. It definitely didn’t spoil the day or night but just one small thing that could have made things more perfect. The night went exceptionally well with all the guests really enjoying themselves. Megan and Molly still very present but subtly ensuring we were all happy. The evening food went down a storm and everyone again said it was exceptional. Myself and my new wife enjoying ourselves to much to eat missed out but the comments amazing. The only feed back there was the children went to the park and missed the food and we were told it couldn’t be brought back out as it had gone past the service time. I appreciate this from a food standards point but the kids would have been happy with cold pizza and wraps so not sure why this wasn’t possible. We had an extended licence until 01:30am and once the live acts ended the DJ kicked in and played all our favourites. We had an amazing time on the dance floor boogieing to our favourite tunes until the very end. All in all an amazing experience, fantastic service, amazing food, and looked after really well. Would...
Read moreWe came on Thursday 23rd June. A very much needed date night and celebrations. We haven't been for a while and we said we'd go for a treat. Both ordered a starter - pate and garlic mushrooms. First of all portion sizes are much smaller - which we don't mind due to cost of food etc - however my garlic mushrooms had no flavour at all, garlic was non existent. Luckily the pate was nice. We ordered off the special menu as it was a special ocassion, I had the Prawn Tagliatelle with vine tomatoes and tenderstem broccoli and my husband had the kleftico lamb shank with feta and potatoes, both priced at £23 each. Well.....my prawn tagliatelle had 5 prawns, one inedible, ONE mini tenderstem brocoli (no more than 5cm) and ONE tomato. Again no flavour but I could just about eat it. The lamb shank was served in what I can only say was dish water with again no flavour. The lamb itself was 'ok' but didn't fall off the bone like it should - and if it did it ended up in the dish water. The potatoes were inedible and got left in the end. We were asked if our everything was OK with our meal...We are not ones to complain or say otherwise but my husband felt like he needed to say something - which left the waitress dumbfounded - we were told that she would mention it but then after began to ignore us and avoid our table. We were originally going to stay for dessert but we decided to leave after everything, especiallythe reaction and treatmentwe got from the waitress. The whole experience spoilt our very special night and we left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. It has slowly been going down hill over the last few years but after tonight unfortunately we won't be back. We weren't the only ones to be disappointed, after speaking to a people that have been in the last week/few weeks they have also said similar things. Such a shame but unfortunate you have lost our custom like...
Read morePartner booked a surprise meal here for Mother's Day for 4pm. Got there just before 4 and a waitress took our name and said our table is "not quite ready yet" and to get a drink at the bar. Drinks ordered and again our name was taken and 5/10 minutes later another girl came over to basically tell us to wait in the waiting area (i presume this was to free the bar area, but wasn't many waiting in fairness). Anyway we obliged and went outside to the waiting area which was cold as doors and windows all open. People coming in after us and we hear them say their table was booked for 4.30pm. we waited until around 4.30, when another family were called in to order, until we asked how much longer. Again we have our name taken and off the girl went. 4.45 i went to change my little girls nappy and realised all the people after us on the 4.30 seating were all sat eating their meals. Thinking it may have been because we needed a high chair due to our 15 month old with us and seating was limited and cramped we thought this may be why they were struggling to seat us, but plenty of other toddlers in high chairs. 5 o'clock and my stroppy hungry child had had enough. I asked again when we were to be seated and I could tell with them looking around the room, they had forgotten about us. We were then finally seated upstairs at 5.05pm. An hour after we had got there. The table upstairs was a naff pop up table so couldn't even sit with my legs under the table as the bar and table legs were in the way. After 10 mins of being sat there someone said they would call someone to take our order. 10 minutes after that we got up and walked out. In total we had been there an hour and 25 minutes. We were all starving. My child was hungry and tired and it was like we were invisible. Absolute shambles. We will not be...
