The Evenhill is an absolute gem—a charming old-style country pub with a cosy, comfortable annexe behind it offering seventeen lovely older style rooms. We stayed in room four on the ground floor, which was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a large, comfy bed, a big bathroom with a shower over a corner bath, a flat-screen TV, and plenty of space for our belongings. It was spotlessly clean, wonderfully quiet, and warm—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Added bonuses include free WiFi, free parking, and it’s pet-friendly (just let them know in advance if you’re bringing your dog).|We were lucky to book a table at the restaurant for dinner, coinciding with a special Burns Night supper. It was a lively, fun evening with delicious home-cooked food, mostly prepared by the lovely proprietor, Debbie. The three-course meal was outstanding, and the complimentary Baileys and whisky toasts made it even more memorable! Despite being newcomers, we were made to feel just as welcome as the regulars and locals, which was such a nice touch.|Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive. Everything was made to order from the menu, and my poached eggs were perfect. My husband loved his hearty full English breakfast, and the additional buffet with cereals, toast, and fruit added to the experience.|The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. The overall atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely.|We couldn’t recommend The Evenhill enough, whether you’re looking for a cosy retreat or a fantastic dining experience. We’d love to stay again if we are ever back...

Brilliant accommodation and excellent pub grub.|Firstly the rooms - exceptionally clean with towels changed daily if required.|Plenty of hot water, with shower and shampoo provided. Also a shower cap for the ladies! Wi-Fi ok and bed comfortable with sheets changed regularly.|Cleaning ladies jolly and approachable.|Rooms set back from the main Sandwich to Canterbury road.|Easy to use the regular bus into Canterbury and return as it stops outside the pub. Large car park.|Now the food - couldn’t fault it - breakfast with fresh fruit, yoghurts cereals, and the cooked breakfast to die for! Never had such tasty sausages and the bacon and poached eggs cooked to perfection. All served up very hot.|Evening meals were also as delicious and a good size - too big for us oap’!! |The waitress’s were efficient and chatty. |The owner Debbie, obviously was at pains to ensure we had a pleasant experience and was also very enquiring about my wife, who had to visit Canterbury hospital on the first day of her stay. She is a very good organiser and host.|Our friends ( him recognisable from his lairy shirts) and my wife and I would have no trouble recommending this establishment in the future. |Thanks to all who made our...

Have had meals here before but never the carvery so my youngest suggested a visit. Yesterday was a bit hard as my father pased away this year and yesterday would have been his birthday so we needed a little cheering. What can I say. We were met by friendly staff and shown to our table. The kind waitress who looked after us saw that my mum was having a little difficulty walking so she took her order and arranged to have her plate actually brought to her which was a lovely touch. The carvery was excellent. All the meats were tasty and succulent and the guy actually doing the carvery was friendly and made sure whether I wanted well cooked beef rather than rare. A good selection of vegetables as well meant that my plate was piled high. And it tasted as good as my mums sunday roast (sorry mum). Finished it off with homemade apple crumble with custard. From a value point of view I would certainly say, at least from our perspective, that it was good value at just over £22 per head. If I could I would give it 6 stars, and I would certainly highly ...

100% I would visit here again. I spent 5 nights here for a work trip and (short of the fact I had to work for a few hours a day) it was like a holiday for me. The staff are absolutely fantastic and I've told my managers that they need to use this venue for all future events. The food was amazing, steaks were tender and perfectly cooked. The lamb trio is delicious. And don't pass on the cheesecake. Hand made and fluffy. I'd drive all the way back for another slice. The room was comfortable, has AC and heating so I was nice and cozy all evening. The showers are hot, and plenty of water flowing in the shower. Don't turn you back on the bath though, it fills up very fast. Tea and coffee in the room was topped up every day with another pack of biscuits. Down in the bar the staff are so friendly and very welcoming. And the kitchen staff were very helpful, when we had to depart at 7am a couple of mornings they had a couple of bacon sandwiches ready and waiting for us.

Really enjoyed our stay here . Beautiful area & surroundings . Although off of a main road our stay was extremely peaceful .The staff were so welcoming and friendly and always happy to help . The room was quite small but this was not a problem as it was cosy . Was warm & snug , and had all needed facilities including towels . Our room had a lovely corner bath and shower ,and the water was hot instantly. Breakfast was very nice .we had the full English ,but there were lots of other choices . We planned on eating out but the food at the evenhill was so nice we ate at the hotel both nights 👌 most meals are around £15 but the food is quality and cooked perfectly and service was always with a smile .The pub is very cosy with a lovely open fire which was very much appreciated. Just a short bus ride into Canterbury so in a great location Will definitely visit again .🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Lovely stay, it was very quiet but you can hear the hallway but that is pretty normal. Very secure entry to accommodation with a key card. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was great. Decor is a bit outdated but functional. The hot water came out off the tap very quickly and very hot and there are signage to warn this. There are towels and extra pillows. Plenty of car parking space as well. We had drinks in the pub and it was great, the staff were friendly and a lovely vibe. Had some bar snacks and it was very tasty, the scotch egg were incredible with the mustard mayo. The sourdough bread was warm when we received them. Breakfast was lovely, fresh and tasty, no issues and very filling. Dog friendly as well. I would visit again.
