The Horse Shepshed — Restaurant in Charnwood

The meal was really nice, the steak was little undercooked so would recommend asking for it higher than you normally get, i.e. I got a medium rare steak but it was definitely rare, next time I'll ask for it to be medium.

The staff were friendly and the girl taking our orders was happy to answer any questions as well as have a laugh and joke which was nice. My only complaint is I did feel she got a little close to our table considering the global climate. Her legs would touch the table everytime she came over, that's how close she got.

The menu is a bit small, which may be due to covid, but I felt some valuable pub grub options were lost. The theme was definitely elevated pub grub with the menu and it missed a gourmet burger, I just thought it odd that you couldn't buy a burger at the pub.

Either way, bit pricey but the food is delicious and the staff...

Had the absolute pleasure of dining at this suberb restaurant. The welcome I received was impeccable. Arrived early and was kindly invited to come in early. The atmosphere here is relaxed , opulent and extravagant. The decor is comforting, very on trend and relaxing. I opted for the 18oz rib eye steak. Cooked to perfection, hot plates, crispy fries and a complements. . Remember this is a pub. Now forget your idea of a pub. This place is upmarket with 2 defined areas. Drinking/socialising and dining. We dined. We were thoroughly pampered by the staff. The food was of a superior standard. They offered a selection of pizzas that were cooked outside in a proper pizza oven. Even though I can't stand pizzas, I was impressed. Drink is plentiful with everything on offer from real ale to wine/spirits. All to a decent standard although the Bass was a little disappointing but that's me being an ultra critical real ale expert.
