We went for lunch there today and the food was excellent (though somewhat overpriced), but on this occasion the service was appalling. We waited for ages to be served, even though the place wasn't particularly full, then our food arrived before our drinks. We'd almost finished eating and I went to the front to ask about the drinks - it turned out they'd forgotten to bring them, and were apologetic, sort of. I cancelled my order of pink lemonade and ordered a cream tea instead. The tea arrived and 10 minutes later I still didn't have my scone, jam and cream. I again had to go to the front as none of the staff had been near our table at the back and when I asked the lady at the counter about my scone she told me unapologetically in a very impatient, rude tone "yes, he's gone to get cream and the kitchen knows about the scone". The waitress was really nice, the food was hot, tasty and well presented and arrived at our table in a matter of minutes. Its always rather busy and parking can be tricky, but its worth driving round the block a couple of times to eat at this cafe. Prices are fair. We look forward to the Asian tapas in the new year, post the omicron lockdown. Covid reduced the numbers in the restaurant which must be very disappointing for the staff and owner.
