Look this pub isn't really for me, lovely location though even that will depend on the weather, staff and customers are fine but you've kinda gotta be well, at least 50+ to i guess appreciate this pub, that's fine there should be places like this for senior citizens. There was once a pool table and a quiz machine here but sadly no longer though a dart board remains. This place is really devoid of any entertainment. This pub also has, as far as i know the most expensive pint of Carlsberg-at £4.20(in pubs) in Essex that i have ever seen, what premium drinks cost, i shudder to think. A good place to come to walk your dog though, food is served here and the customers seemed to like it so its probably good. As this pub is somewhat out of the way they have odd opening times, closing at 3 and reopening at 5 so you really have to plan to visit this pub. We called on a Saturday to book a table but was told all tables inside ate booked but outside is first come first served and open at 12. So we set out early and took our dogs for a long walk and circled back to the carpark in plenty of time for 12 o'clock. A male staff member came out and I asked if the back garden was open,, he didn't even turn to answer me and just said no and walked off, I felt this was rude but We took a seat outside and waited for 12 o'clock, shortly after 12 a female member came out and informed us its all fully booked. Really disappointed in the food here. Menu was very limited and we were surprised by the prices. All options were fried food, with chips. £17 for cod and chips and it came right out of a freezer packet. Something I could have cooked at home for less than £4.
