Oh dear where do I start? Ok the carpark is a carpark. Parked up and went in. Met by a yong lad on the door who explaind all the Covid stuff and he then handed us a menu and then pointed at a table and said that's our seat for the evening. We went and sat down and I looked around, that's when I see that things were not as they should be. The decore is getting old and it's dirty even the wall lights needed dusting. The paint work is worn and wearing thin, the furniture is getting worse for wear and the floors could've done with a proper clean. I ordered the food n drinks at the bar and the Covid screen needed a clean too, well smeary. The starters arrived and so far so good, finished these, but a few of the salad leaves had started turning brown so not that fresh. Then came along the Hunters Chicken for the wife and the Horse Shoe Gammon Steak for me. As they were placed on the end of the table I was not impressed straight away. The plates underneath felt rough and greasey, the same for the rim of the plate on top too. As for the food, Mushrooms were stone cold, the Gammon was as thick as 2 slices of streaky bacon, most of the chips had returned to the fryer(not many on the plate), the egg yolk was a police issue rubber bullet, the 2 onion rings were almost dripping and soft. As for the wifes Hunters chicken, chips etc the same, but the Chicken had shrunk in the oven to the size of a Nugget, covered with highly processed cheese and some very dodgy looking red lumpy stuff that had crisped up under a grill, on the side was a little gravy boat filled with a jarred Ragu lumpy sauce and the plate she eat from was the same as mine, greasy and felt rough due to dish washer not doing it's job. Finished up and then young waiter arrived and we informed him of the let downs including the plates and that's when he cringed. The waiter was young and he looked like he was only two weeks out of Puberty as were all the others except the lad at the door and the lady handing out the cards for quiz night(Quiz Night and the average age of customer over 55 years old, you know the place is going down), as the very loud quiz started, that's when we got up n left. So would I return, nope as it's just being let go and lead in to decay by a very young staff with no one there to point out that it's a bussiness and not a youth club and you have to put some work in to keep the place ship shape and a place where paying customers will want to return. It's a shame , but that's what happens when a team is young, complacent and really need training. Sorry Folks but it's a has been of a place.

We booked a table for a meal as we were in the area for a family funeral. I ordered the falafel for starters, which was barely edible. There were 3 small falafel which were fairly warm and OK with cold roasted peppers, cold broccoli and triangles of cold bread soaked in sriracha sauce. I would have probably eaten most of this if it hadn't have been absolutely swamped in a really hot sriracha sauce; definitely not "drizzled" as described. I like spicy food but the dish was completely ruined by the sheer amount of sauce chucked over it all; the food was virtually floating in it. We followed this with the lamb shanks, which were nice but the "buttery chive mashed potato" had a strange consistency, and was, we suspect, powdered mash, or at best real mash that had been kept warm for a while, as it certainly tasted very dry and powdery. There was also a longish wait between courses. We decided to be brave and order a dessert as we were still hoping for something nice. I had the crumble of the day. Huge lumps of solid crumble and lumpy custard that I would be embarrassed to serve. I don't believe that they have a proper chef here, if they do they need more training as the average home cook can do far better.

We had our Christmas dinner here on Christmas Day. We were met at the door with a glass of Prosecco and some cheery banter with the waiter. All the staff worked their socks off and were very helpful and polite and had everything in hand. Non-dairy custard and non-dairy ice cream were available with the vegan crumble and soya milk for the coffees. The food was good, all 5 courses, and we were all comfortably, uncomfortable when we left. Only thing to mention to improve on was that my starter was the same as the appetiser but with the addition of mushrooms, so a little more variety here would have been good. I visited the Quort Pot a few years ago and was very disappointed with my meal and they had no vegan options. I suspect it has changed hands now as I was very impressed with this recent visit. I’m looking forward to visiting again and hope to book next Christmas too.

We use to come here a lot as a family a few years ago, me and my hubby wanted to re check it out after a recent recommendation. So we went on a Monday which was 50% food, well mains as we found out after. The food was OK... so let's lay it out: Starters: I had the mushrooms stuffed with cheese and my husband had pulled pork and pea terrine. Both where lovely I think chutney added to mushrooms would of been a perfect compliment as it was lacking the sweetness against the cheese. Mains: I had seabeam, my husband had the Wagu Burger. So my fish dish was ok, massively overcoaked for my taste and the potatoes and veg well it was a small handful, world of had over double as well as the 3 token prawns I had for £13.99, massively overpriced. As we had half price Monday that was ok but in all honesty I think £7-8 for the meal would be correct. My husband loved the burger, chips where ok but there was no salad? No garnish? Bit odd and missed looked a bit lost on the plate. Afters: creme brûlée and cheese board. Ok I have to moan here, a creme brûlée is not thick custard with some tiny sugar crust... massive let down...it's an art and should be done properly especially for £4.95. Cheese board was ok, ok cheeses would of been better not super cold and water biscuits are so bland, chutney was lovely (again). All in all, was ok but the drinks where overpriced, as an "ale pub" erm no not the best at £4.15 a pint real ale selection was nothing special and again the wine was £6-7 a large glass... the larger was £5, unreal. So would we return? Maybe for lunch on a Monday on the cheap otherwise no sorry for these prices I'd go Prince of Wales in Cold Norton or The Old Windwill Hangingfield for a proper meal with good...

Booked an afternoon tea as a treat for my daughter this Easter Sunday and was not disappointed. It was lovely and exceed expectations, they even granted my request for just cheese finger sandwiches for my daughter who is a fussy eater at the best of times. She thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, as she doesn't drink tea she was offered an alternative which was at an extra cost, which was fine she just wanted to sip it from the tea cup that was provided and felt really 'grown up!' There were a good selection of savory servings for myself not just sandwiches but wraps too with some different fillings from the norm. The cakes were delicious too with the biggest scones I've ever seen still warm to the touch . As it was Easter there were some lovely extra touches for the kids who were dinning my daughter had her face painted by the face painter that was booked by the pub and painted a beautiful flower design she was very friendly too, chatting away to my 9 year old daughter. We even had a visit from the Easter bunny who gave out Easter eggs. Our waitress Who I didn't catch a name was lovely very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The staff at the Quart Pot are always friendly and every experience I've had so far has been a pleasant one. Well...
