I came in for lunch with my friend as we have done on a few occasion before. We could see that the business had changed hands and that the same standard of service had also changed and unfortunately not for the better. The tables are now all lined up like a waiting room and with no effort you could touch the table next to you and hear everything that the people on that table are saying. My friend and I both ordered a main course from the specials and we both agreed that our food was tasty but a little too expensive for the amount on the plate. After eating half of my meal I felt that I could do with some more sauce as it was a little dry. When I received the bill I could see that I had been charged £2 for the extra sauce. The little pot of sauce that I was given was a third of the size of a ramakin dish and the contents was the equivalent to a heaped table spoon. I do understand being charged but surely the amount of sauce should be reflected in the amount paid. I did question the £2 charge to the lady at the till but she was not really interested. She was more interested in justifying the cost than listening to my point of view. If this lady had just taken a little more time to listen to me then I would be more inclined to come back. There was no one else behind me waiting to pay so she did have the time to listen. Dining out is not just...

The Hub Farmshop

I’m always looking for a good roast dinner. Been to a few good places the last few months but I’ve really wanted to try The Hub after it was shared by a few people!

I managed to get a last minute table for Easter Sunday for the fam.

It’s small and cosy inside (it’s a farmshop after all) and the service was great.

They have a range of roasts (turkey, pork, beef and veggie) and you can even get it dished up as a huge help your self platters for the whole table.

I had the 3 meat option and all the meat was excellent! It comes with a huge Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings! (Even broccoli which I can’t seem to find anywhere else which was a win!)

We made sure to get a number of the sides too (the pigs in blankets are a must) and the gravy comes in a HUGE serving boat (we only needed one between 6)

Overall had an awesome roast here and will be back in the future for sure! I’ve been eyeing up their burgers that they serve on Saturday evenings and they also do a number of themed nights on...

We used The Hub for my fathers funeral reception and from start until finish they were polite, professional and respectful providing for every care and whim of each of my guests. The food was absolutely delicious and many guests commented on this. We had a wide variety of delicious sandwich fillings and specific vegan needs catered for. We also had vegan and meat sausage rolls which disappeared quickly, along with scones clotted cream and jam and a selection of small cakes which were yummy. We had plenty of food and none of my guests went without. In addition to this they made tea and coffee and served all of this with the utmost care and attention and also cleared away. This meant the reception was worry free for my family which meant everything to us so that we could spend precious time with each other. THANKYOU so much and I thoroughly recommend The Hub and they were great...

Family frequently brunch at The Hub so mum & I thought about time we ventured here too. Growing local business so def need to book as venue currently quite small. Clearly advised how long you can have table for, at time of booking & reminded when seated - ample time. Food fresh & plentiful tho few more beans appreciated (am sure would have been provided had I asked) & butter to do own toast please. Not so keen on the very deep fried hash browns - next time will ask to be dunked in fryer for less time. Waiting staff super busy but attentive. Perused lovely farm shop produce & similar items - ideal for a Christmas hamper for the relative who has everything! Will be returning to try other breakfast menu choices & maybe a roast! 😋

Stumbled upon this gem as I was waiting for my car to have some work done locally. Essentially situated in a car park, but on a beautiful sunny morning, the outdoor seating area was very pleasant and you could easily be fooled into thinking you were somewhere much more scenic. I opted for the Greek yoghurt and granola which, while it may not sound too interesting, was absolutely fantastic! It was only when I went inside to pay that I realised this isn’t just a cafe, but a lovely little shop, selling all manner of homemade jams, preserves and all sorts. There was also a very enticing cake section that I will certainly be revisiting, come cheat day. Highly recommended
