In the short time that John and Jen have taken over The Plough it has quickly gained a reputation of "the pub to go to" if you live within the Banbury area and beyond. I really don,t want to use a lazy 1990 term of Gastro Pub because The Plough goes far beyond that outdated cliche. The Plough goes beyond cliches because John and Jen are excellent hosts and they both excel at creating a welcoming atmosphere, managing staff effectively, and are so at ease at running their new pub. They are both so passionate about their pub and are already making strides in the village community and beyond. They have quickly made The Plough a place to go and spend time eating and drinking, and all customers feel valued and appreciated and their staff are equally valued, respected, and appreciated . I can,t sign off without a mention that The Plough have their own chef who is so skilled, creative, and knowledgeable about creating ideal, exciting, and wonderful food full of fresh ingredients that set your taste buds buzzing. don,t underestimate this young chef because he has learnt his craft by working and learning hard and following in his Dads and GrandDads footsteps. Read moreWe called at The Plough Inn on a Tuesday lunch time. It was our first visit and have to say the atmosphere was very welcoming. There was a friendly barmaid and a lovely open fire. The lunchtime menu was varied, well priced, and included hot and cold food. We sat in the bar, but had a look inside the restaurant area which was empty during the day but looked very inviting for an evening meal. A very relaxing and pleasant visit....
