Easily the loveliest and most friendly place we have stayed whilst being in the UK. The lovely Owner Johnny and his wife. Donna are very kind people and lovely to have a conversation with in a couple of beers. All the local people who come and go we are just very welcoming. Especially Max, he’s a real character. The meals were just absolutely outstanding, breakfast was just what we needed and the rooms are very comfortable very clean and very quiet. funny so the front was just a little bit there what a lovely house Rogers

Souldern is a beautiful quiet north Oxfordshire village. The Fox sits just off the Main Street. Very small bar/restaurant. Very friendly staff. Swift service. Typical Sunday lunch menu with a few specials on the board. Mrs went for the roast pork (a little bland), I had the gammon, egg and chips (very good). Nice wines. Nice selection of classic pub puds. Coffees and warm brownie. Very good. Decent value for £60.

We chose The Fox Inn for an overnight stay after flying in to UK from Australia. Fabulous caring service from both of the guys thank you. Room was comfortable and quiet which we needed a good night sleep. Food and drink was damn fine, I enjoyed my FnC's!

We had a family meal at the Fox this week as a convenient half-way meeting place between Bucks & the Midlands; this is the fourth time we have eaten there and it was understandably a different experience from our last visit in January.

The whole experience was great; on arrival we were asked to hand-sanitise, and then escorted to a table, in our case in the garden. We were then asked to text all food and drink orders to the mobile number provided, in order to keep numbers of customers in the bar to a minimum (a really good idea). Service was superb, drinks arriving in minutes and the food appearing in a sensible time.

A lot of thought had been given to covid precautions, with numerous tables and gazebos widely spaced in the garden, along with a large undercover area primarily for drinkers.

The food was very good, along with excellent beers (Black sheep and the local Fools Gold). Food that is pre-ordered comes with a hefty discount (£3 off most main courses) which we wished they had told us about when we booked on the phone. Prices are still reasonable without the discount though.

The landlord and staff could not have been friendlier and gave a really nice feel to the place. They are obviously trying very hard to make visiting their pub a very good experience despite the precautions and arrangements they have had to put in place.

All in all, very highly recommended and we...

Came to The Fox for lunch with friends, we chose the pub as it was central for all parties as we were coming from the East and our friends were arriving from the West and Souldern was in the middle!! What a lovely village of sandstone houses and at the centre sits the Fox. There is little parking at the pub, however, the adjacent road is safe and has little traffic. We booked a table and I am pleased we did as the place is very popular and I think we would have had trouble getting a table if we hadn’t booked. The menu is not excessive; however, the content is mouthwatering. All four of us had different courses ranging from the lamb, pork, burger and the chicken and bacon salad. There were no complaints and the food was freshly prepared, well presented and tasty.||The pub has a really nice ambiance and is bright and airy. The host is very approachable, social and keeps a fine hostelry with good hospitality.||I would fully recommend the Fox and if you are in the area,...

We stayed here for a wedding nearby and so glad we did as most of the other guests were staying in a big soulless corporate hotel....this is a lovely old stone building in a beautiful little village setting.|Johnny and Paul couldn't do enough for us from phoning beforehand to let us know they're getting more fans for the rooms because of the heat, making lovely breakfasts for us and serving a great pint of cider, offering advice on local taxis and phoning to say I'd forgotten my charger before I'd got to far away on the drive home....|Our friends had to unavoidably cancel on the first of our 2 nights and were happy to pay for it but the owners refused to take their money....an unbelievable touch that wouldn't happen in other hotels.|We'll definitely be back if we have any other events in the area and wouldn't hesitate to recommend...
