The White Lion — Restaurant in Cherwell District

Maybe this is a regulars pub but wasn't for me or my family. Came here for some food to only be told they don't serve food (but maybe that's googles fault for suggesting they do) so was going to stay for a drink but the outside area was a state.

I don't think anyone had been outside all day as every table (6-8) were covered in glass, crisp packets and cans. The main reason we picked this place is the large ship in the background for kids to play with but this was covered in bird poo - not expected it to be spotless but at least get a pressure washer on it...

Superb local village pub. Friendly greeting from the barman/landlord. Nice selection of beers, wines and spirits. Tidy decor inside with plenty of space and seats - and a real fire to keep the place warm. They don’t do food, but have a rolling programme of street food vans visiting on Friday or Saturday evening - pizza, burgers, Korean, Indian, Gurkha etc. See their Facebook page to see what’s coming - Always great food. Under new ownership since October 2022. We moved into village after this, but credit part of our move here to this pub and its landlords. Lovely atmosphere, warm and friendly. Dogs and children are much loved there too. Currently no kitchen (apparently will be in November), but most Fri or Saturdays they have different food vans. Such a lovely family friendly place to be.
