With a birthday to celebrate & it being Hallidays 25th Anniversary, what better way, than to celebrate them together with fabulous food. As soon as you enter you're thinking ' this is nice', with the size, exposed beams and decor giving you that comfy, cosy feeling. We opted for the 3 course menu and struggled to make decisions as what to have - too many yummy things. Hallidays had made their own celebratory fizz - inc prosecco, chambord & a raspeberry- quaffable! Accompanied by home made cheese puffs and hand cut crisps, of course, both were top notch. Starters were the goats cheese tart & crab on toast - both winners for us. Main courses were beef fillet (cooked perfectly medium rare) & local monkfish. Puddings of apple tart (amazing presentation, never seen it served in that way) & salted caramel ice cream as well as chocolate torte with honeycomb. Both puddings were sublime, but think the tart won the day due to combination of the flavours & presentation. This restaurant has restricted opening days/times, so it's very much recommended to book in advance. Overall, this was a cracking meal in a friendly setting, one that I whole heartedly recommend.

Have eaten at Halliday’s on many occasions! Always welcomed with a smile at this family run business. The menu always has something that catches your eye, featuring locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, Andy chef patron has an eye for detail and a wealth of experience in the kitchen. Not only does this restaurant have a great menu, but throughout lock down they started a great value & tasty takeaway service. Since lock down has eased we have experienced two fantastic outside dining events, board and barrel, paella afuera evening 🥘 both events the food was fantastic and well priced and we felt safe in a covid secure environment. The paella in particular was to die for! Well done team Halliday’s looking forward to the next night soon!

We visited here for Sunday lunch and had the set menu option. 3 courses for a reasonable price per head. The quality of the food and service was great. We will definitely be back. Book in advance to as its a popular place and lots of returning customers. Parking is limited as it is in the centre of the village. Didnt take many pictures here but really enjoyed the Gamay Noir so thought I'd share.

I had high hopes for this place with its idyllic thatched cottage chocolate box exterior , but walk inside and it's quite disappointing. It's exactly like the other reviewers have mentioned, the decor is really drab and uninspiring. It really is like sitting in someone's dully decorated front room. The ladies who served us were not particularly welcoming , we did feel a little like we were spoiling their day by turning up - more pesky customers ! Food was ok , I would have liked a better selection of vegetables with the roast beef dinner, and the beef was too well cooked but the gravy was nice ..... I dont normally eat dessert, but with the Sunday set menu you get 3 courses for £26 , which I thought was pretty reasonable, so I had an iced banana dessert which was delicious. Oh and the bread rolls were really nice too. All in all, if they could redecorate, make the walls a bit more interesting to look at , and maybe play some low key music (it was oddly quiet in there) and add a few more vegetables to the roast dinner, I would go back. As it is...
