Went for a late breakfast and wasn't disappointed. There is plenty of parking to the rear. Find a table, decide what you want to eat and then go to the counter to order. It would be better for your order to be taken at the table. There were plenty of places to sit. The food came quite quick and served on a hot plate. The bacon was nice and thick and sausages were meaty. I could not fault the food. I had the large full English @ £12.50. Will go back when next in the area.

A nice little cafe for a breakfast. The service was really good and the guy behind the counter was really polite and friendly. The food came out really quick and was nice. The table was dirty and hadn’t been wiped from the previous customer and the menus were dirty. We were the first people to have the lunch menu so they obviously hadn’t been cleaned from the day before. Apart from that it was a pleasant experience, I will be back again.

This is a big airy cafe with parking available to the rear. Extensive menu, delicious freshly made food and nice sized pot of tea. Price very reasonable. This was a lovely find after an 8 mile hike. Only negative was that the waitress serving the pot of tea to the table was heavy handed, resulting in a decent spillage and no acknowledgement other than a grunt and walked away!! Thankfully the food make up for it.

The Mamawu is an ideal meet-up location and worthy of being called a destination cafe. The large free car park, easy accessibility, directly on the main road, and being easy to spot make this an ideal location as a starting point for group rides.

Friendly, chatty, and knowledgeable staff make ordering a pleasure, even for fussy eaters.

Vegan, vegetarian, coeliac, gluten intolerance, wheelchair, and dog friendly, it has a lot going for it. There are several tables with mains power, which make it an ideal place to snack and work.

It also uses locally sourced ingredients where it can. The food, however, was a mixed bag of delight and disappointment. We both had a small breakfast, no tomatoes, with a coffee that came in at £13.50 per head. This puts it above the average price locally. I will start with the sausage, the heart of any full english. Only gluten-free sausages are available, and even though it is a butchers gluten free sausage, it really did lack in texture and taste and were incredibly dry. Maybe you could consider making a few non gluten free sausages available for the 99% of the population that is not gluten intolerant or a coeliac. The bacon was well cooked and very tasty, along with the artisan bread. The hash browns were pretty standard, as were the beans that were, for some unknown reason, served cold. The mushrooms, however, were a delight as were the eggs, with their vibrant orange, dippy yolks.

It had the feel of a busy community hub with people working on laptops, dog walkers, and wheelchair users, all enjoying the facilities provided.

Would we stop here again? For sure, but definitely not for...

Myself, partner, uncle, and my parents went for breakfast over the bank holiday and took our dogs. We have never been here before and from the offset when we stepped foot inside the cafe the reception we received from what I assumed was the manager was very frosty! We were unsure if we would be seated or if you seat yourself (because we had not been here before) and it seemed the manager took great pleasure in watching us stand there not knowing what to do. It was very awkward and unsettling. He stood behind the counter with his arms crossed with 2 other staff members just looking at us. This made us feel very uncomfortable as we would have expected him to great us immediately and tell us to take a seat in the seating area. Instead, he let us squirm and stand there for a minute or two before he told us to take a seat. We needed a table for 5, and we had to pull together 2 tables, which they did not help us with at all. Instead, they just watched us do it! It was a great shame as the service and experience was appalling. There was a lovely young man who worked behind the till and served us our food who was great and made up for the terrible service we initially received. The food came out quickly and was nice and tasty. Overall, I wouldn't return because of the awkward experience we received. We were made to feel a burden and uncomfortable from the outset, which is great shame as it is local to us and dog friendly. Hopefully no one else is made to feel...

I’ve wanted to try this place since it opened as I drive past every week, and finally decided to go there for brunch with a friend today. We arrived just before 10:30 am, they werent too busy and there was plenty of space in the car park. On entering we were greeted by a friendly server and told we could sit anywhere and order at the counter when we were ready. There’s also the option to order at the table with a QR code. The place had a bright airy atmosphere with a calm relaxing feel from the low background music. The breakfast menu is extensive with veggie and vegan options. We opted for a hot chocolate and flat white coffee; the coffee they use is Illy and was smooth and strong. I went for the Mamawu Eggs with bacon on a toasted muffin served with hollandaise sauce. The eggs were perfectly poached with golden yellow runny yolks and the bacon thick cut and delicious. My friend opted for the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. We also ordered a bacon bap, just because. Service was quick and efficient. Extra syrup for the pancakes came on request for no charge. We then had smoothies, Coco loco for my friend (Mango, pineapple, coconut, lime, mint, apple juice) and Pash 'N' shoot for me: Mango, pineapple, passion fruit, apple Juice; both were delicious. We both agreed we must come back again soon to try the cakes which looked scrumptious. The lunch menu served from 11:30am also looks worth a try so we’ll definitely be...
