Highly recommend for walkers looking for a cosy night in a comfy room with good food! Just off the South Downs way, this lovely little Inn hosted a friend and I for the night. They served us delicious home cooked food and provided comfortable rooms. Single bedrooms had all the amenities one needs after a long days walking in the hills. The toilet in our room was blocked when we arrived and didn’t get sorted but an alternative bathroom was given and with a discount for the trouble. Service was excellent and we felt well looked after and attended to. Breakfast was excellently cooked by the manager Simon.

So wonderful to have somewhere in the village for really good cooked breakfasts. This is a new service and I was really impressed - great selection of options and good value for the portions and quality - I had the veggie breakfast with well presented beans (often v hard to make pretty on a brekkie!!!) and SO MUCH avocado. Included drinks were a great touch and we had great service with a smile with local knowledge on what walks to do! Overall really happy and will definitely come again/recommend!

Lovely pub, very cosy and inviting. I stayed in their rooms, which are very comfortable and nicely decorated. Very useful for stopping off during a ride along the South Downs Way. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is good, honest and delicious. They provided me a hose to rinse down my bike and a safe space to store it overnight. Highly recommended place to stay, very little fuss if you don't like snooty places and welcoming to everyone, locals and tourists alike! Brilliant!

Sadly I won't get to stay at The Blue Bell. I booked a family room via Booking.com and the advert and the confirmation said that it could sleep three. Today I rang to confirm a few details and to book for dinner on two nights to be told that rooms were only for two people and that they had no family rooms. I was shocked and thrown into confusion which was apparently interpreted by the man on the end of the phone as unacceptable. I was just saying that our whole holiday was now in jeopardy when he snarled at me that I would just have to cancel the booking with Booking.com and hung up on me. I have rarely encountered such appalling customer service or rudeness. A bit of staff training wouldn't go amiss. The reply to this review states that it was entirely my fault, however my booking clearly states that I had booked a family room which had the capacity to sleep three. Yes, I heard the owner state more than once that rooms only slept two, and I wasn't doubting him, but that was no reason for him being rude and hanging up on me. I neither raised my voice nor swore, and I stand by my review; given not for the mix up but for his...

Lovely country pub near to Goodwood races.||Stayed for 2 nights. Check in was easy and the lady who greeted us and took our food order was beyond helpful. In fact all the staff were wonderful and really went above and beyond for example trying to find me a phone charger and also asking if we needed dinner reservations the next day. ||Rooms were clean and fit for purpose.||Rooms have a mini fridge but ours wasn’t plugged in but we plugged it in ourselves and waited for the drinks inside to cool. ||Reasonably priced and tasty food in the pub restaurant. Proper home cooking was enjoyed by my mum and I.||The only drawback was the booking advertised breakfast included. I would expect some form of cooked breakfast but it was fruit and yogurt with pastries in the room. We don’t like pastries and would just expect a cooked breakfast on a two night trip away for the price. ||Very clean and would stay again if we ever went to Goodwood races again. Uber drivers in...

We stayed at the BlueBell in on September 9th and were shocked at the filthy conditions we found.

The BlueBell Inn has grimed in dirt in its carpets and the stairs. The shower pain doesn’t drain fast enough to prevent flooding that the proprietor has admitted in an email to me the need to use towels to mop up the overflow.

The proprietor has described dirt brought in by the boots of walkers as the cause of the filthy situation. This is not a Youth Hostel, it is an inn with furnished bedroom and en suite bathrooms to rent.

What we saw was grimed in dirt, dirt accumulated over time. The standards of cleanliness that one expects were clearly secondary or totally neglected.

I would advise future travelers to check the rooms before they check-in or provide their credit card details to the proprietor.

Sadly I give this hotel a one star rating and if I could I would give it a zero...
