Guests have praised the attentive service and the quality of the food, noting the variety and presentation of dishes . Whether you're planning a casual meal or a special celebration, Allamby's provides a welcoming atmosphere and a diverse menu to suit your dining preferences. I visited Allamby’s Brasserie & Bar for both breakfast and dinner. The dinner was enjoyable, but the vegetarian breakfast was a disappointment, lacking flavour and variety. The staff were patient and professional, clearly handling some difficult guests with care. Full respect to them for that. The management should focus more on supporting their employees to maintain a better working...
Read moreHad a delicious lunch today visiting Allamby’s for the first time since it opened. I went with friends and we all ate from the ‘light lunch’ menu, which offered two courses for £19.95. This was excellent value and the quality and quantity of the food were superb. Two of us chose the Smoked Salmon starter and were very surprised by the size of the portions. The Wild Mushrooms on Toast and the Burrata Caprese Salad were chosen by the others. All were delighted. For main courses our choices were Beer Battered Fish, Chicken Caesar Salad and Steak Frites. I can honestly say that the batter on the fish was the best I have tasted in years. There were lots of extra curly bits of batter attached, which are always my favourite bits. So extra points to the chef for those! The restaurant was very quiet and more customers would have added to the atmosphere. Shaw Hill has revamped what was the old Vardon’s restaurant and all the swags and tails have disappeared. It now has a much more modern feel and I would highly encourage you to...

Now that we are forced into the lounge of the restaurant, we no longer enjoyed it. Too many people walking through. Took ages to be served. They only had cakes for two and we booked 3 people. The coffee was luke warm. The sausage rolls tasted uncooked. The chairs are too low for the tables and we struggled reaching food and eating. The portions are so small now and less food as well. I would rather pay £15 for a hearty portion from a cafe if I'm not going to get the ambience of the Victorian room. Such a shame because this was our favourite place for so long. Goodbye Shaw Hill,...
