Took my mum for lunch today and we ordered from the Christmas menu, I was bitterly disappointed when it arrived as I’d looked at the website photos beforehand and seen pictures of what looked like the most delicious roast dinner, so I was really forward to my food and when it arrived it looked nothing like the picture advertised and didn’t resemble a Christmas dinner at all, firstly I’d enquired if the meal came with roast potatoes as it didn’t mention this on the menu and I was told yes it did come with both mash and roast potatoes, when it arrived there was no roast potatoes, no Yorkshire pudding and it was swimming in gravy, and the beef was as just a piece of steak, it was quite possibly the worst roast dinner I’ve ever had, below are pictures of what I received compared to what is advertised 😌

Dear landlord Thanks for your reply but I think the 2 star was very well deserved the meal was absolutely awful, even if you think it was delicious, I didn’t!! I ordered from the Christmas menu and most Christmas meals come with roast potatoes, I did ask this question to a member of staff and was told it did come with roast potatoes! When it came out it didn’t your correct, so when I enquired they brought out 3 tiny uncooked roast potatoes, so I stand by what I say, you go to a place expecting a Christmas lunch to resemble something similar to their Sunday lunch surely! And to say it was swimming in gravy was an understatement and I’ve not even mentioned my mums meals that had 2 very burnt pigs in blankets,...

We had a lovely meal here a couple of weeks ago, and opted for the cheese pie. Because it was so nice, we returned tonight and ordered the same meal. The cheese pie was half the size it was previously, and just consisted of a very liquid cheese and onion sauce mix, with a crust on top. It was appalling really, when you consider the fact that they charged £13.50 for it. The previous cheese pie had been baked in a far larger dish, and consisted of proper lancashire cheese. We also ordered an halloumi burger for the same price, and the quality of the meal was mediocre at best. In fact, I would go as far as to state that you would be better off visiting a 2 for 1 pub. We reported the issues to the waiter, and received an apology, but absolutely nothing else. A pub that valued its customers would at least have offered some form of Goodwill gesture As long as they receive your money, they're not really interested. We certainly won't be spending our hard-earned cash...

As it's my birthday, my sister kindly offered a celebration meal. My smartphone said it was closed. I telephoned and they were open. The staff are new. There is adequate parking around the back. The pub is on a single floor, so it's easier if you or others are disabled. It's looks clean and tidy inside. You can, if you wish, have a meal alfresco under ventilated marquee canvas. There are many meals to choose from. We me and my sister chatted together and waited around 20 minutes. The staff and chef were friendly. The meal we had was plenty and more than we could eat. And tasty and not overcooked. You are asked to enter your car registration in a tablet on the wall by the bar. It's easy to do. They weren't pushy to make us leave and we could have time to digest the meals. My sister didn't tell me how much the bill was, so can't comment on this. The meal we both had was a...

First time visit to this lovely pub. Had heard how good the Sunday roast is so decided to try and we were not disappointed. We had a beef roast and the Yorkshire pudding was big. The dish came with red cabbage, mash, carrots and a generous quantity of beef. At £16.95 this was reason reasonable especially with the quantity. Also a surprise was the real ale on offer, Timothy Taylor’s Bolt Maker and Wye Valley brewery Butty Bach, so a pint of Butty Bach was bought and this was very well kept and served. The staff were friendly and attentive. The meal was served very quickly. Note that this pub is popular on a Sunday and they have some excellent deals during the week. There is a big carpark park but this fills up really quickly.

Great local pub with fantastic cocktails! I found this place while looking for a new local pub and knew from my first visit that I’d be back. They often have seasonal 2 for £12 cocktails, which I love, and regular entertainment. If there’s a quiz on, booking can be trickier, but that just speaks to how popular it is. On one occasion, my booking was misplaced, but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, even removing a drink from the final bill. The customer service is always warm and friendly, and we always have a great time here. I’ve sampled multiple items from the menu since I first went and have enjoyed every one of them!

Took my mum with my partner on Sunday for a roast. The outside setup is great, the weather wasn't great but we was ok. The service was superb nothing too much trouble. I had the three meats roast and they had roasts beef. The food was superb every element cooled perfect and so tasty. Will definitely go back hopefully in the sunshine or indoors next time. Another great roast today, just missing cauliflower cheese for me. Even as an option for an extra. Had beef and turkey today both cooked perfectly.
