Christmas party venue for 2022. Pre-arranged set menu with a choice of dishes. Food was lovely with a range of spice temperatures. Vegetarian options available and attentive staff who remembered who the vegetarians were as further courses were served. I would have preferred round tables to the bench style seating employed but then again we were a large group so it may not have been possible to accommodate us with that layout. Definitely need some soft / sound absorbing decor in the large room to reduce the volume of conversation large groups generate; having to strain to hear what the person next to you is saying is very tiring though that probably wouldn't be an issue with a small group / when it's less busy. Went here for the first time the other night. Phoned first to check if we needed to book and were told it was fine as it was early. A nice welcome on arrival and seated straight away, drinks ordered and menus perused. Orders taken and poppadoms served straight away, the pickle tray was a little lite on onions but otherwise a good mix. Starter for two very nice with a very nice slaw salad , not your usual lettuce and tomato. Main meals were very nice. I had lamb and the wife had tandoori chicken. Staff were very polite and happy to help and advise, only point would be that between starter and mains we asked if they could give us 5 minutes but within 2 minutes appeared with the mains as if in a rush to turn the tables. I recently ordered a takeaway from Sagur Premier, enticed by its appealing exterior and hoping to make it my new local spot. Unfortunately, the experience was a letdown and I won't be returning.

Firstly, the food was overpriced for the quality provided. The poppadoms had a strange, off-putting taste, and the mixed sharing starters were excessively greasy. The lamb kebab was particularly disappointing—dry and lacking any enjoyable flavor.

To make matters worse, upon collection, I bought two bottles of Cobra beer, only to discover they were out of date when I got home. This oversight further tarnished my impression of the restaurant.

Overall, I had high hopes for Sagar, but the subpar food quality and expired drinks left me deeply disappointed. I can't recommend this place and will be looking elsewhere for...
