My partner and I met with another couple who live locally to test this newly launched eatery. We each had starters and mains and some puddings the food was all very tasty - my partner had the trout main which to me looked like a decent portion of fish but the meal looked a small portion overall - would recommend a side of fries. I had the potted duck and orange and steak pie and they were both delicious. We also had sticky toffee pudding and an apple crumble for dessert too which were both good. The plates are not easy to manoeuvre for the waiting staff who did their best with them but were very good overall. Would go back and would recommend. There was tennents on tap. The vegetarian options were readily available though the description for the rarebit starter looks like it overcomplicates a classic.

Came to this new Dine last Thursday. It’s got a lovely ambience, not too fancy or too casual. Very impressed with what they’ve done with the venue as I used to go there before. Had the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding. Both very tasty and would recommend. Service was great, we were served by a lovely woman who was great to chat to.

This is a truly incredible establishment! Everything was perfect when I visited - I would like to thank the staff especially as this was the most professional service I have ever been given in my life. Aidan welcomed me into this fine establishment, and swiftly led me to a table, accompanied by his deep, smooth and heavenly voice. I couldn’t decide what to drink and he was able to give me a fantastic recommendation, a beautiful lager on tap. Fellow waiter, Harry ensured that my dietary requirements were perfectly accounted for when ordering food. He is a lovely chipper young gentleman. The food arrived quickly, presented on a pristine wooden slab, immediately emitting a mouth-watering aroma. I have never experienced chips cooked to such absolute perfection - subtly crisp exteriors and fluffy and creamy in the middle. It even came with a side garnish which enhanced the dish. The burger itself appeared as though it had been prepared with sheer love. I will never forget how amazing it tasted too - a genius array of fillings created a delicious blend of flavours. A huge thank you to the chefs and porters. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. You should be paying top dollar for this food and service but I spent very little money, as their menu is excellently priced. Thank you, thank you, thank...

On the strength of an excellent meal a few days earlier at Dine Edinburgh we booked Sunday lunch here. My husband really enjoyed his meal but I was slightly disappointed as for me today was not as good an experience. The staff were attentive but it seemed as though they were needing one extra person to make things flow a little easier. Initially no-one greeted us on our arrival and we had to wait a while to order our first drinks. Our starters were a chefs salad for me and my OH had the chicken parfait from the fixed price menu. Both were tasty. For main my husband ordered the Sunday roast which was gammon - he said it was excellent and would have given it a 5* rating. It came with tasty roasted veg, broccoli and roast potatoes with Yorkshire pudding I ordered lamb chops but was told today it was lamb rump. The lamb was disappointing, not enough to complain about, but not as tender as I would like and I had to cut off the fat as it wasn't rendered down or crispy. In my opinion there was too much potato and not enough veg. The veg that came with the meal was a small leaf of crispy kale..tasty but merely a garnish, and roasted onion which was mush on top of the mash potato/champ. Probably too much gravy for me. When asked if our meals were alright I answered it's...

I had a great experience here in December with friends during a long lunch. We have also visited the other sites. We arrived at 11:54 on 13 Jan, we were told that brunch was finished and lunch started at 12:30, we enquired why there was no food being served and were told they needed a break between servings. We were out the door leaving when another member of staff told the waitress that was wrong and to seat us. The food was great but the service was terrible, the staff could not care and there was no smiles or made to feel welcome. The Virgin Mary was poor and nothing like the Bloody Mary, it was definitely not a mix, no taste and just tomato juice. No spice rim on the glass. I asked for it to be altered and had it returned with Tabasco added. It returned it for a second time.We received the dessert menu and after choosing the chocolate pot we were informed it was not available, there are 6 things available surely we could have been informed this wasn’t available when we got the menus? We did leave a generous tip, did not receive a thank you and left without anyone saying goodbye! There was ample staff to...
