Waterfront Takeaway — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Waterfront is a take it or leave it roadside cafe. Rightly, it's favourite of workers on the big construction sites nearby, drivers and local commuters.

It opens early and closes early, as a result.

Tea, coffee and food held between bread or in a roll and served to you in a bag is the staple here.

I'm glad it survived lockdown. They put a desk at the door, made use of the few tables and chairs outside and had people queue in the street.

There's often a queue at peak times. Waterfront isn't slow, but I've often wished it could be faster. There's a none zero chance that anyone/everyone ahead of you in the queue is ordering due a dozen others.

Food here is safe, you get today what you ordered last week and will get next month when you order again. It won't be worth writing home about, putting on Instagram or even remembering.

But! That's what I want from Waterfront. I went quick, clean and good enough....

Great food superb service. Definitely a place to go for breakfast and lunch. Tuna panini with corn and cheese in a hot press "epic" full breakfast perfect. Make sure you try the lemon drizzle cake and a blueberry muffin while you're there. ,.......... I am sad to say i have visited the place again over the weekend i called in and ordered 4 sausage, egg and cheese rolls with bacon.... After I opened the rolls at home I noticed no egg. I called the restaurant and informed them I had no egg the woman on the phone argued with me that I didn't ask for egg and if I feel like coming back she will add it I asked if I was charged for it she said no, so I just said it's ok for now just make sure to get the order right next time. She laughed at me and hung up before I was able to finish my sentence. Worst customer...

Staff were a bit rude how they speak to you when there stressed out, seen a few people coming in and they look like they can't handle it, cant keep up with orders and getting food correct, food was over cooked bacon felt like u were chewing steak, more roll than food, took absolutely ages to get served, coffee is standard, bottle of juice prices are ridiculous. Never again... tbh I have read the last review and it was absolutely cheeky how the response was and not how u run a cafe I have a hard job but don't blame the customers for patience ect as it's ur establishment and the review are to help u better the cafe not have a go at the customers for giving...
