Terrible service! Don’t be fooled by the reviews! If your a regular customer like we were, you would see and experience the inconsistency - we order the same every time- a large mixed donner (which comes with salad) plus a large chips = £13. Always came separate before, large portions, chips dry, crispy & tasty. Last time we come we had it all thrown in together with no pitta, therefore getting less meat & soggy, saturated in oil chips. This time after complaining you give us an extra pitta, but still threw meat & chips together which made chips inedible. If you pay for mixed donner & large chips separately, you expect to get what you ordered, & get them separately ….not thrown altogether to get an inedible sloppy mess. When we complain and bring it back, you get defensive, & make out it’s our fault when it’s the same order we always have……what happened to “The Customer is always right!?!” Disgusting service from staff! All in it for the money! Avoid it at all cost! We went to GDK after returning our food, getting our money back (after unnecessary arguing - staff seriously need training in customer service!) & getting an awesome , tasty, reliable meal at GDK! Staff need some serious training in Customer Service is all I’d say! Very rude & argumentative! WE WILL NOT BE BACK...

Best in Colchester, well it was 4 months ago and I gave it 5 stars.

The standard has definitely dropped. Portion size has reduced and accompanied sauce pots have also reduced to barely a tablespoon. There was never a problem asking for an extra sauce, but now the want to charge me 50p extra. You get the same amount of sauce with a small kebab as you do with a large and the concept of offering more sauce with a large kebab baffled the staff.

Giving them the benefit of the doubt as it used to be excellent food, I visited on 2 more occasions. The same reduced standards both times. They have lost my regular custom. I may visit again in the near future to see if it’s changed and further review.

The bonus is that I’ve discovered a new place with excellent food and service and a vast range of kebabs and variations. Top quality meat and not shy with their portions. Travel down Mersea Road towards the town centre and keep an eye out for the fish and chip shop on your right “oh...

I ordered through the Just Eat app and 40 minutes after my food was ordered, the app said it had been delivered, which it hadn't. I called and they said it is 5-8 minutes away. I waited 30 and then i called again. I was then told that my order had been delivered an hour prior which it hadnt. They said they would call the the delivery driver. 25 minutes after that I call back and am told they left it on my porch which it was not. I tell them i am going to work and its on the same street and if they could possibly deliver it there because I am yet to have eaten. They tell me I am being ridiculous and I should just get a refund on the app, they then hung up on me. I work in hospitality so I understand that mistakes can happen but the lack of care or wish to right their wrong and frankly their rudeness was off-putting.
