Franks Corner — Restaurant in Colchester

During our visit, we encountered several issues with our meal. First, when our order arrived, my partner’s sausage was missing, so we had to ask the staff to bring it out. They did so reluctantly and without much courtesy. Upon cutting into the sausage, it turned out to be undercooked on the inside yet burnt on the outside. (All my sausages where Aldo quite red on the inside)

At the time, I dismissed my partner’s concern. I ate my three sausages and then took the one she refused to eat, bringing my total to four. Later that evening, I began experiencing severe gastrointestinal distress, which has persisted for three days as of this review. I’m unable to eat, can barely sleep, and am making frequent trips to the bathroom at least 40 times a day. If there’s no improvement soon, I will need urgent medical attention.

This has been an extremely unpleasant experience, and I have never suffered such severe food poisoning. As a generally healthy individual, this has significantly impacted my well-being, forcing me to stop working due to the pain and discomfort.

Before dining here, please ensure your food is thoroughly cooked. I’m not suggesting they routinely serve raw sausages, but there was clear negligence and lack of oversight in this case that resulted in serious consequences...

I went there because of the high ranking and had high expectations. However, the experience was very disappointing. When I entered the restaurant, it was full of smoke. The coffee didn’t taste like coffee but more like light milk tea. They forgot to bring me the toast, and when I asked the staff, he realized it had been left in the toaster and was over-toasted. Great little cafe, with friendly caring staff. Food is top notch with great flavours. Sausages are great in my view. All though this is a fried breakfast 🍳 it’s absolutely free from grease and overflowing with tasty food. Hash browns are crispy, I can truly say the best ones I have tasted, period.
