Forget about the food, service and the atmosphere, Poplar is a garden nursery and did the survey ask about there stock of plants...NO..!! However, my reasoning to usecmu local garden nursery is simply to both views then purchase plenty of solar toys, recharge batteries plus most importantly a clever devise that can charge my mobile phones, it also has a choice of torchs built, and it cost me just £4.99, reduced from £9.99. In fact I bought 5 of these clever devises. In fact battery devise must have more power in it than my Toyota 12V Yaris battery but a single AA 1.5V battery would..!! I had 15 callouts to the RAC in 8 months back in 2022/2023 for flat battery. Toyota's excuse is not there crap battery , they put the blame solely on ME...!! They have accused me of not driving enough miles to.charge that low grade battery. There is an element of truth in their words, if only I could drive to a holiday destination with my wife. However note I have only driven my Toyota Yaris Icon 5690 in 2 yrs and 11 months as I lost all confidence in driving it further than Sainsburys @ Tollgate, I live at Marks Tey, a 3 mile trip. In fact due to losing all confidence with Steven Eagle and his mechanics I wife and I have not risked a weeks++ holiday for 3 years. To make the situation even worse I was forced to pay for a new 12V battery myself, as Steven Eagle refused to take the word of 15 different RAC mechanics . That battery was tested on more than 15 + occasions and on each occasion the Toyoya mechanics informed me it was in perfect working order, much to the amusement of the RAC mechanic, the crowd ie fellow customers at the Colchester Toyota garage, then add on me..!! We now refer Eagle to Seagull , re the crap hitting my head on numerous occasions...! I will be meeting Steven at the Essex Small Claims Court in 2025 that's if he is brave enough to turn up with his legal team, could be so many red faces...

Situated within Popular Nurseries is a sizeable eatery. This is, without doubt is a fabulous cafe come restaurant. The food is amazing along with the range of cakes etc. It has disabled parking spaces in the front and rear car parks and is wheelchair friendly throughout.
It is however quite pricey. Don't get me wrong, what you receive is very tasty, well presented but at say for instance, £9 for a sandwich and another £5 for a few chips to go with it makes for an expensive light bite.
There are very few choices on the menu so if you are either a fussy eater or have a reduced range of food you can eat or tolerate then this is not the place for you.
There's inside and outside seating available but it is usually busy so there's not always a seat available. If you are in a rush then this isn't the place for you as their service, particularly when ordering at the till is extremely slow. Nobody seems to be in a rush or apologizing for the waiting either.
Is the experience enjoyable, well in my opinion it depends on both how deep your pockets are and how much spare time you have. If you look around who's eating you'll see that mainly well-dressed well well-off pensioners are...
Read morejust popped in for a cup of tea for 2, price on the board was £2.99 a pot for 1, which is expensive but most garden centres would be similar, so I ordered decaf tea for 2. When I went to pay it was £6.58, so 60p more. When challenged they said that it was more expensive for them to purchase and they class it as a herbal tea.
Decaf tea is not herbal tea. I have checked 5 wholesale sites that sell Taylors tea bags and 4 of them are the same price and 1 was 1p a bag more expensive. Is your supplier ripping you off? We, probably like most people who drink decaf, do so for medical reasons, so is this not discrimination? Over 95% of cafes we visit charge the same for both types. Lesson learnt, wont be back, which is a shame as the food looked...
