The Half Butt Inn use to be absolutely brilliant clean, great food, good service and a great play area for the kids.

However new people have taken over the public house and unfortunately what we experienced yesterday was really poor. Toilets had no toilet roll, In general the place was so untidy, tables hadn't been cleaned, food was really poor 100% frozen and it took absolutely ages to come out. When standing at the bar you could see into the main office, the office was a mess. Yes they took over the pub 2 weeks ago but honestly what have they done in the 2 weeks? At the end of our stay my mother decided to address the landlady and explain how down hill the pub has got and how the food was really poor. The landladys customer service was absolutely rediculous, non existent. She was extremely rude and very angry at the fact she had been told her public house needed improving!

We use to go to this pub very often, and now I will 100% not be returning. Such a shame that the previous owners have left.

Attended on a Saturday with my partner and 2 children. Only us and 1 other table in the whole premises. Pub look great on the outside and I can not fault the garden and play equipment for the children. That being said the food was a real let down. Had a chicken burger that can only be compared to Iceland frozen foods, kids portions were the same as the adults (small for adults). The chips were the best part of all 4 meals. The atmosphere and staff were cold and not welcoming and not to mention that state of the portal loo's. Honestly disappointed with what we were hoping would be a really good pub to eat at wih the children on a regular occasion. With food improving this has the potential to be a great family...
