This pub was recommended to us on a local forum for a pub lunch in the area that did great food and was both child and dog friendly. It certainly lived up to expectations! We left the dog at home on this occasion. But we visited today for lunch and had a lovely warm welcome from the bar man upon arrival. Both members of staff we met during our visit - the bar man and the lady who we believe was the chef, were both extremely friendly and attentive to both myself and my husband as well as our infant daughter. The chef went as far as bringing her a special plate to enjoy her meal on as she was sharing some of ours. There was a lovely selection of soft beverages and coffees, the harder stuff my husband will try next time, although there did seem to be plenty of choice. The photos do not do justice to the size of the portions. Everything was "heavenly", cooked fresh to perfection, made with care and attention - we were both fit to bursting by the time we left! We could see the pub is currently undergoing some decorating, however this was all tidy and not encroaching on the experience at all. The owners and staff obviously take great pride in the food, service, atmosphere and look of this lovely village pub. A bonus was the Grey Parrot Delilah who kept us entertained while we were there. She was also clearly very loved and looked after! A great accessible toilet with baby change too, very clean. I'd strongly recommend the Farmers Arms to anyone! Well worth a visit! Thank you...

We were really excited to visit The Farmers Arms in Guiting Power, especially given its great location. As visitors from South Wales, we were hoping for a lovely, relaxing meal out, but unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite live up to expectations.

We were told there would be a 25-minute wait for food, which we didn’t mind at first. However, it ended up taking well over an hour—so long that we eventually walked out in frustration. During the wait, a waitress apologized and mentioned there was new management, promising it would be just five more minutes. Unfortunately, that turned into another 20 minutes with no food in sight. At that point, we were so tired and disappointed that we decided to leave hungry.

What made things worse was that local families who arrived after us were served promptly, even getting their desserts before we were even close to being served. It was really frustrating, especially since there were no other nearby food options.

The location is lovely, and we had high hopes for a nice meal, but the service was a letdown. We’re hoping this was just an off night for them, but unfortunately, it didn’t leave us with a...

Was quite disappointed by our visit really. We were staying in the area so decided to pop in and grab a drink. We weren’t greeted as we went inside, one of the ladies behind the bar (brunette) was kind and seemed more welcoming than the other staff members. We then headed to the beer garden where an off lead dog proceeded to pester my dog (who was on lead and can sometimes be lead reactive with strange dogs he doesn’t know).. this off lead dog would not leave mine alone even following us into the pub after we decided to move to avoid the off lead dog. This was quite disappointing as we felt like we couldn’t have enjoyed sitting outside with this other dog roaming free with no care from the owner that he was upsetting my dog.

We sat and enjoyed our drinks and the decided to leave. My partner put the glasses on the bar and kindly said “thankyou guys” to which we have NO response or even acknowledgement that we were leaving.

Having worked in hospitality for 7 years I know customer service is a BIG thing but I felt so unwelcome here, which was a shame because we...

When you’re travelling through Cotswold County, do drop in at the Farmers Arm Pub. Its warm and inviting homely interiors will relax you immediately. Its not a very large place but its food makes you want to stay and enjoy a fulfilling meal! I was missing home, so I ordered Lamb Curry. I was amazed with the flavour. Cooked just right with the correct spices (a bit less for my Indian palate though!), it was thoroughly tasty. My friend ate an equally satisfying vegan + gluten free option too. It rare, but she repeated ‘mmmm’ many a times through the meal!! The menu caters to all. Do visit this charming place on your next trip. I don’t drink so can’t comment on it 😊. And they love dogs !

A quaint, traditional Cotswold pub in a sleepy village with delicious food and great service! If you're looking for a place that greets you with a warm welcome and a relaxing setting then I'd recommend here. The barmaid was friendly, chatty and welcoming. This pub has a cosy feel with a fire. The food was really good quality pub grub. Everyone really enjoyed the food. The woman that served the food (assume to be the chef) was lovely too. 10/10
