Dear Ballihoo club, I honestly don't know where to begin.

I'm currently renting a cottage in the estate and after reading you are the only food option around I decided to give it a try.

As I opened up the packaging to my veggie burger, things looked very wrong. The contents looked as if (and I wouldn't be surprised if they had ) been sitting there for hours and had became dry, wilted, and depressed.

Your veggie burger patty tasted of old tissue and hard times. Your lettuce was soggy and wilted with a slimy substance covering it.

After an experience and a half struggling to eat your burger I decided to move on to your veggie risotto. (Just looking at it gave me anxiety!)

The risotto had no doubt been ignored for so long and was literally begging for someone to come and rescue it from its room temperature coffin.

To be honest with you I haven't been so angry over food in a long time. Though you have a nice selection, your food shouldn't be consumed by anyone real or imaginary.

Are you rated 3 stars for a reason?? YES!! My suggestion, double back and try eating your own food options, remove the waste and replace it with real food.

I simply ran away from Ballihoo Club because that's all I could possibly do.

Your fries were...

What a shame, we could have spent a fortune in here as staying on the park for 7 days.

The only good things about Ballihoo is the wine (which is over priced) and a few members of the waiting staff, who were let down by the plates they were serving.

As a party of eight people, the food was over an hour in arriving. Which I wouldn’t have minded if the main meals were not flavourless, salty, cheap produce and tasted mostly made in a microwave - the prices were not reflected in the quality or flavour.

We complained to the shift manager, who was rude, dismissive and had an air of arrogance (which was strange as he was even unable to open a bottle a bottle of wine correctly) then sneered as we asked for nice glasses (for the ÂŁ40 bottle of wine), as the ones provided looked like they belonged in a picnic basket and not a restaurant!

Training, realising the customer is mainly right and a proper manager and trained chef would make a massive difference.

If I were you, I’d order Waitrose to deliver and...

Nice atmosphere and staff friendly just not very attentive considering it wasn’t very busy when we went. Took a while to get menus and drinks. Then 1 hour 45 mins before our food arrived!!! We raised it with staff and didn’t get any apology or explanation. After the arrival round of drinks (finished in our long wait) they didn’t come to take any further drinks orders or take away the empties. Staff were spending more time relaying tables for the following day. Food was lukewarm and very simple considering how long it took to get to us. Portions small and left us hungry considering cost of £18 each. Very underwhelming. We ordered peanut butter cheesecake for desert and had a smear of peanut butter on a plate with some cream squirted on top. No base. Not even fancy, just disappointing. Bill was ridiculously expensive and they automatically added a large tip for themselves. Card machine wasn’t working and overall a very messy experience....

Hate to say it, but this experience was beyond embarrassing. We waited an hour for our brunch. When it arrived, four of the dishes were different to what was ordered. The scrambled eggs tasted like fish and all of the ‘poached’ eggs were essentially hard-boiled, the yolk (pictured) was like eating one of the tracking balls you used to get in an old computer mouse - and it wasn’t because they’d been waiting to bring all the meals out at once because two of them came out a good 5-10 minutes after all the others. My friend’s teeth could barely get through the toast, it was so hard, she had to give up. Two of us agreed they were the worst eggs we’d ever had. A table that was seated after us was served before us too, which seemed odd. I also had a chai latte, which was actually very tasty.

My friends and I had an absolutely lovely time here for food, celebrating a hen. The food was stunning, lots of choice - I had the cheeseburger which I highly recommend. Table service is great, the staff are really helpful and attentive. I (think) Sarah was the lovely blonde lady who made our time more special, she organised a celebration plate with brownies and a candle for my friend, it was a complete surprise and we all really appreciated it. The surroundings are gorgeous, the decor is modern with a boho vibe - so pretty. They also have a little shop area inside for essentials such as washing tablets etc. And fridge essentials. The whole area is absolutely stunning, and this restaurant is the cherry on top! Loved it!

The restaurant itself is nice, toilets are lovely and full wheelchair access throughout. Staff are friendly and although no allergen menu they did note allergies and were reassuring. We all found however, that while we all enjoyed our starters very much, noone really enjoyed their mains and we did not stay for dessert. Staff were very attentive throughout with offering drinks and clearing things away. When our bill came there were 3 items on there we didn't have - which is unusual. When questioned though it was immediately removed without an issue. All in all I would say if you're staying to give it a go, the most enjoyed meal seemed to be the steak.
