My partner and I recently stayed for 1 night and also dined in the restaurant. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend. We stayed in the Masters room which was BEAUTIFUL and exceeded our expectations. The interior was so perfectly styled and the room was very spacious. Although of course not at all expected, I did think in hindsight that having a small welcome token on arrival (just something little like a welcome drink, baked good from the farm shop etc) may have made it feel extra special, but doesn’t take away from how great the room was. The bed was super comfy and we loved the towels and underfloor heating in the bathroom! When we arrived, the room was a tiny bit cold and although it heated up by the time we returned from dinner, it may have been helpful to pop the heating on a little earlier to ensure it was warm when we arrived. We went downstairs for dinner where we had a cocktail in the bar before going through to the restaurant. Despite it being a Monday night, there was a lovely buzzy atmosphere - it could easily have been a Friday evening. Our food was lovely- we both had steaks for our main course which were well cooked and tasted great. I did ask our server if we might be able to order a sauce for our steak but it eventually turned out this wasn’t possible. I suppose this is fair as there wasn’t a sauce on the menu and maybe the chefs were busy, but I did think that this wouldn’t have taken too much additional effort for the chefs to make. Regardless, it didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the meal overall and we loved the soft serve ice cream for dessert - simple yet delicious. Breakfast was also great and we had a choice of 2 courses from a varied and interesting menu- not just the usual full English which was nice! Staff were friendly and helpful throughout! Overall, a perfect spot for a luxurious yet relaxed break! Would...

We called ahead 10 minutes before arriving to see if they had space and whether we can have lunch in the garden. We were told in a surprisingly off tone it’s first come first served, but having eaten here before we didn’t let that stop us from proceeding there. Having not booked we understood we would have to take what was available. It was just the tone it was advised in. On arrival we were told they were not serving food outside, despite not being advised of that when called and mentioned the garden. We were seated in a dark bar area even though there appeared to be plenty of other tables available, and continued to remain empty during our duration there. We didn’t complain when seated as we hadn’t pre booked. However, the most disappointing thing was that the food was below standard. The price had increased lately by over 25% and there appears to be no real justification as the food had deteriorated in quality. Maybe they are charging more for that ‘extra side’ of attitude from some staff (not all staff I have to add, some are trying hard). We are fortunate in this area to have so much choice of amazing eateries, ones that offer a better service, atmosphere and much better food, all for better value. Thus, unfortunately this venue we once enjoyed is now one we’ll no longer go back to and will not recommend as we used to. I’m more than happy to pay for good service, atmosphere and food, but this sadly...

We booked here for our daughter's 30th birthday and we are so glad that we chose here for her special day! All of the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! The service was prompt and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We all had different starters which were amazing and all of us had Sunday roasts. It was by far the tastiest meal we have had eating out for a long time. All of the food had such incredible flavours and was presented beautifully. We were so full after our starters and mains but my husband couldn't resist the cheeseboard which was like a meal in itself! We took a surprise birthday cake with us for our daughter which we had pre arranged with The Fox when we booked the table. The staff placed the candles and sparklers on the cake for us descreetly in the kitchen and they brought it out in full song and sparklers for the birthday girl after we had eaten - they couldn't have been more attentive. The pub and restaurant itself is situated in the stunning Cotswold countryside and it has a real Cotswold cosy feel. I really do recommend visiting, we most definitely will be going there again in the future. Thank you so much to all the staff for making our daughter's 30th birthday meal so special, we will remember...

Brilliant Night blown away I have lived in the Cotswolds for 30 years and without a doubt my best meal I have had in the area only one that has come close was wild Rabbit in kingham, but The Fox has a nice cosy fun vib to it. Vincent manager (French) really knows his stuff brilliant at wine paring and food suggestions. Everything about the place just 10/10 food , wine, atmosphere , relaxed classy, cosy cannot wait to go again. Out meal was as follows : Had oysters, as appetiser, followed by Smoked Salmon on rye-bread both so simple but 10/10 my partner had mackerel pate with pain de campagne again so simple but perfect. Main had veal T-bone cooked pink as heaven, finally semi cold ice cream mixed vanilla coffee sounds odd and weird but so good. My girlfriend had panacotta with ginger and strawberries heaven ! I will not tell you the wine we had as it was so nice i want the stocks to last. Merci Vincent and all your team!!

Lovely venue in a small Cotswolds village (combination of restaurant and hotel). I wasn't sure what to expect and I'm pleased to say that the quality of the decoration, ambience and most importantly the food was excellent. The menu is a combination of gastro pub and pizza and we weren't shocked by high prices, quite reasonable considering the overall quality. Loved the way you can see into the kitchen from some of the seating. No hiding the way the food is prepared etc. The garden has been made into an outside eating area with high end wooden and metal furniture and entertainment for bigger children and adults. Finally the service team were excellent and appeared to genuinely want you to have a good experience. Overall great venue and we will be returning with the family next time.
