A Proper Cotswolds Gem! After a truly disappointing experience elsewhere, we ended up here – and what a brilliant contrast it was. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel genuinely welcome. • Clear signage guided us in, and although we initially entered through the bar (which didn’t seem like the main entrance), the staff couldn’t have been more understanding. • Several team members greeted us with a smile, explained where to sit, and offered menus right away – all without fuss. • We chose to sit outside as the weather was lovely. A waitress promptly came over, took our orders, and gave helpful, friendly recommendations. • Every team member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and professional. No attitude, no delays – just genuine hospitality. • The place was spotless – beautifully maintained and full of character. • The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, with soft music playing and a very cosy, welcoming vibe throughout. • Inside and outside seating areas were well-kept, stylish, and inviting. It’s clear the team really takes pride in the place. • We didn’t have a full meal here, but the drinks and bar snacks were great, and we were looked after with the same care as if we’d booked a three-course dinner. • Other guests around us all seemed happy, enjoying their meals and being well cared for – the whole place had a lovely, unforced energy.
We stumbled upon this place by chance, but it turned out to be the highlight of our day. Genuinely friendly service, great atmosphere, and the kind of care that makes you want to return.
Highly recommend – we’ll...
Read moreMet a friend here for lunch on a Saturday. Staff were professional, not extremely friendly but perfectly fine and service was efficient.
Chicken Milanese had huge amount of breaded chicken, LOTS of frisee lettuce and dressing. It was fairly tasty and I enjoyed. Personally would prefer slightly less chicken and perhaps some variety of lettuce and salad contents. Friend had pizza which looked good. The menu is very pizza focused, so possibly best to stick to that as it seems to be their speciality. Pudding menu is fairly small. Tiramisu was delicious.
We hung out for several hours and staff moved us to bar area after our food so we could continue chatting and have tea. They were very flexible and we appreciated having extra time.
It has a traditional Cotswold pub feeling, a little dark in places, nice open fire. The conservatory area is bright (possibly too hot on a warm day and the door will keep opening as it's entrance). Near pool table was bit noisy but ok. Huge car park. I saw some dogs on leads inside so seems dog-friendly.
Definitely happy to visit again and I love the...
