Be aware this is not an Italian restaurant (they call it Mediterranean on their business cards) so best not expect quality Italian restaurant food, as they prepare food very differently and use a different type of dough.
The first issue I noticed was the price of their restaurant menu was 50% more expensive than their online takeaway menu. More is understandable but 50%? If you click the menu on their website, it only takes you to the online one rather than a menu which truly reflects the more expensive restaurant prices.
As other reviewers have said, the calamari was inedible as it was so rubbery and hard to chew. I went with a calzone which wasn't even on the main menu they provide you, surprising as it is the name of the restaurant. The dough used was strange and nothing like what I've ever tasted before at a restaurant. The dish had so much oil, as other reviewers have also experienced, and I was surprised by a couple of very salty patches in random spots in the calzone.
It seems others have had a better experience with the pastas so if you really have to dine here, it may be worth trying...
Read moreThe welcome needs working on. Being glared at, as we walked in, then immediately told that the kitchen closes in half an hour. I had absolutely no idea if this meant that we only had half an hour to order and eat our meals, yet the woman couldn't articulate or explain, she just repeated herself, while stabbing at the menu. So I decided to leave. At that moment, another staff member came over and explained in whispered tones that the restaurant will not close in half an hour, only the kitchen and that we are welcome to sit down. Feeling very uncomfortable, we tried to redeem the mistake but communication is not their strong point, yet I somehow felt responsible for the atmosphere, which at this point was rather dead. This said, they remained friendly enough and we both thoroughly enjoyed the food. Please do work on your customer service - engage us, embrace us, warm us. Don't hang around the bar area making hushed conversation. That's not how an Italian restaurant...
Read moreThe woman in charge was rude and too many staff just standing around We had possibly the worst dining experience at this poor excuse for an'Italian restaurant'. Firstly the wine that was served was dreadful, tasted stale and secondly the food was inedible. The pasta was not fresh or homemade, it was the cheapest dried pasta with what looked to be a can of supermarket value tomatoes over it, presented to us as slop in a bowl.
Worst of all when we politely and quietly complained and said we felt it was unacceptable, we were faced with the most rude, aggressive attitude by the supposed The b woman in charge was rude cant even speak english If you like Italian food, don't go there! Went there as we saw lots of good reviews and we were very very disappointed. Food was unappealing and bland. Waste of money! I can cook better Italian food at home than an Italian run restaurant, says it all really... Terrible...
