Under new, still independent, ownership by 3 years. Beer turned back, hadn't been pulled through. When questioned, then pulled through so was then oK. No cash, card only. Don't run tabs either inside or outside so every transaction paid for at time of order at bar. Can understand outside, but inconvenient inside. No table service. Only when food served. Functional establishment only. Polite & efficient but no real warmth or customer engagement, unless encouraged by customer. - - - Geared to maximize revenue at low-maintenance, pared back cost. Fine as a business, but not at the cost of customer experience. Rear garden astro-turfed. Good for maintenance, bad for ambience and customer experience. Limited lunch menu. No baguette, ciabatta snacks (or sandwiches, from memory, I think). Fish Friday at 12.50 pounds. oK, but small fish. Didn't flatter the establishment's "quality" styling. May go back when I fancy a nice run out, but won't rush. I have better choices closer with better ambience, facilities & menus. Overall......

Update: Went on a Thursday night for a birthday treat for my son who turned 8. He loves the pizzas and they do a fantastic offer of any 2 pizzas for £20. The staff couldn't have been more lovely! i called ahead and explained it was his birthday, they arranged a delicious chocolate brownie with ice cream and a happy birthday msg for pudding (free). My son stood near the pizza chef and asked questions (he wants to be a chef!) the chef was very kind, interactive but also professional and focused on cooking. I'm very grateful for the wonderful staff and service and always enjoy our visits! Thank you x

Great pub with lovely garden! Pizzas are delicious but a bit pricey. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. My family walk here from a nearby village and enjoy a drink and pizza regularly. Calzone is yum. Fish and chips also good on a Friday. Sunday roasts not as...

A very attractive pub, charming and beautifully presented. On booking we could choose a table inside; or in the marquee; or in the garden (uncovered). Sight unseen we opted.for the marquee, which was delightful, but the three dining spaces all looked equally attractive. Our server was efficient and attentive without being intrusive, and was confident and helpful with information about gluten-free menu choices. We had the king prawn starter: perfectly cooked prawns and a lovely fresh rocket salad. My main was fusilli (offered as a gluten-free option) with chicken, mushrooms and broccoli in a creamy truffle sauce, every element of which was cooked perfectly, and was delicious and piping hot. The most enjoyable pub lunch I've had for a long time! Prices are reasonable, the chinaware is very attractive, all in all a very pleasant experience: can't...

In CAMRA's inventory of historic pub interiors - of national importance. This relates to the tap room, which is the best preserved space in the pub, with high back settles and a tiny little opening through to the bar. The rest of the pub is more modern and nothing much to write home about. Not sure I really saw this pub in its best light - I was part way through a countryside walk and arrived at midday just as they were opening, so I was the only customer in here, making it hard to judge the atmosphere. Also they weren't serving food on my visit. Seems a bit of a shame they don't serve any more local beers, although I suppose it's only a few miles from the M25 so in a way the London Pride etc isn't wholly out of place. I suspect if you catch it at the right time this could be a lovely pub.

THE NEW GREEN DRAGON!! The renovations exceeded my expectations, and were definitely worth the wait. All of the facilities are modern, but still keep to the pubs heritage. I was apprehensive at such a small menu, but they did the pizzas so so well! The ingredients are very fresh, and tasty. My only draw back, the staff were a little in-cohesive. The drinks arrived at the same time as the food, and we got charged on the bill for something we didn’t order. The staff seemed fairly rushed, and a little stressed. Although, it was opening night so this was expected to an extent. I will be returning soon, hopefully the new nerves will have worn off! 10/10 food!

Wedding day! We truly can’t fault the Green Dragon or the incredible staff for making our wedding day absolutely perfect. From start to finish, Abbie and Chris went over and above to make our day unforgettable. Every detail was taken care of with such care and professionalism, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The team were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything ran smoothly. Our day was everything we hoped for and more – all thanks to the amazing effort of everyone involved. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an stress-free, beautiful, and truly special experience!
