Edit: yes, you replied AFTER I made this Google review. And you focused on the £10 being a good value which is true until adults are forced to pay for a breakfast they don’t want as it’s an event advertised for children so we already ate and you ignored all of my valid points about rude staff, phones being used by Santa/elves, our food being taken away etc. this issue is a lot more than just the cost, but you don’t want to respond to those issues, do you.
Original: I did email to try and resolve my issue but they ignored me, so I remain dissatisfied. The booking system was very unclear, so I confirmed via messenger, with you, who I booked for and it was confirmed I booked for 2 children and adults are a tag along on the day. I’ve attached an image under this email to show this.
I am upset because of the following:
Santa/elves sitting there on their phones Told I booked for 1 adult and 1 child and only have a 2 person table and cannot accommodate all 4 of us even though I confirmed by message our booking was for 2 children and asked you about how adults work before the event. After a lot of pushing a table was found. There were loads of tables available even during the peak of everyone coming and it’s baffling to me why it was such an argument to obtain a table that we booked for No vegetarian sausages available Rude lady checking us in who was very annoyed that we needed a 4 person table and kept telling me we didn’t book correctly & we have to pay extra because people keep “trying to sneak in for free food” Pork sausages were horrible and undercooked Not enough pastries to go around When we went to visit Santa our food was taken from the table which had full plates and our belongings were still there It was advertised as a ‘breakfast with Santa’ but when it really meant that you get a gift afterwards from him. I would have expected with the advertisement that it was a large table for the children and Santa Us two adults didn’t want breakfast but were told we need to pay for it because we were there. Why was this not transparent? I’d already ate before I came as this was a event held for the children not adults hence why we only needed to book for the children I had to pay an extra £20 for adults when we were accompanying the children to see Santa, not coming for breakfast ourselves the event was not what was advertised and I wouldn’t pay £40 for our experience if I had known what...
Read moreWent to this so called restaurant for a birthday treat. Time of visit 17.30-18.34 19/11/2022 We was greeted at the door by staff and shown to a table that was in the corner by the toilets. Sat down, greeted by the waitress and asked what drinks we would like. I asked what ales were available and she didn't have a clue. We ordered peroni to save face. Waitress asked what we wanted to eat of which we replied mixed grill. She went off and then returned stating out of stock. My reply was what restaurant is out of stock at 17.30 on a Saturday of a meal that is really a popular choice. She did not have an answer so I sent for the manager. Manager arrived and compiled list of ingredients for mixed grill which were 7 pounds more expensive than combined price. This was blatantly non negotiable on price. She explained the original ingredients come pre packaged in a bag which sounds horrendous. Surely a chef cook can cook a lump of meat and some chips without using colouring by numbers ! We saved face again and ordered burgers. They arrived in tin bowls that I use to feed the dogs. Chipped, scratched and past their sell by date. Forced ourselves to eat most of the burger, closed knife and fork of which gave the waitress sped over and cleared whilst we were still chewing. Desert was offered immediately. I overheard customer / waitress conversation behind me and out of stock process for lemon cheesecake. That was enough not to bother asking for desert, just for the fact of its probably not available. Was left in the corner on our own being ignored for 10 plus minutes so coat on, stand up go to counter and left very unhappy with the whole experience. Your manager needs training in customer relations and retention and your waitress needs training in stock availability and products. One more note : When a customer leaves the waitress re dresses the tables without wiping down. The tables were sticky and most probably unhygienic. I'm sure about getting the...
Read moreWell I had such high hopes for our visit this afternoon but unfortunately didn't leave wanting to come back anytime soon. Let's start with the negatives - being pointed in the direction of our table and not led there felt a bit like we had to guess what table was ours, No Sirlion steaks but alternative rump was offered came out with a big lump of gristle on it so that was not too tasty, carvery Beef was a bit too fatty for my liking other meats were fine though. After we ate took nearly 30 mins for our plates to be cleared and desserts offered then after deciding not to have desserts then it took another 20mins for me to get the bill and pay for it after they forgot to take off my deposit. The outside area was full of dirty tables looked like a bomb had gone off and because of the wind glasses were falling off tables and smashing on the ground . Positives - it was very easy to book a table and the deposit system ment I was confident that I would have a table at the time I booked. The waitress (Morgan) was very good and smiley (abet feeling rushed off her feet) and made us feel like we were important whilst taking our order and took it very prompt and professionally and apologised for an waiting we had incured. The toilets were nice and clean, drinks were nice and cold (soft drinks and water) nice little play area outside, carvery looked nice and appealing with well stocked sides and Yorkshire puddings, the rest of the food apart from the steak was nice and tasty. Conclusion- we might come back again but from this experience not anytime soon. I think a few more members of staff might have helped during this time or just some support on the floor for...
