We ordered 2 vegetarian breakfasts and coffee. The coffee was really lovely. Our breakfast arrived in good time and at first, appeared to be fine. The photo of the full English on the menu showed all the items on our plate with the exception of bacon. We had one item less and yet were being charged the same price!! Come on Mainsail, that's not fair, a piece of grilled halloumi or veggie bacon should have been available, or a price reduction in place. Whilst most of the breakfast tasted good enough, I was shocked to see we had been served HALF a mushroom!! REALLY?? Just shy of £10.00 and we were served HALF a mushroom! That was embarrassing!! The photo on the menu also showed tinned tomatoes, we were served half an uncooked, barely ripe tomato, if you're going to grill a tomato, at least leave it long enough to be at least warm!! Now, we also ordered 'brown bread' toasted, what we were served was 'brown bread' which had been shown the toaster/grill for about 30 seconds max, this is nothing unusual though, as most restaurants/cafés do not know how to make toast either. All in all, we felt cheated and discriminated against as vegetarians but the vegetarian sausages, eggs, beans, and hash brown were fine. During our 3-week camping stay, this was our first and last visit to the...
Read moreThe prices here are EXTORTIONATE. I would expect luxury for the prices however my partners sandwich came on thin cheap bread (the kind that costs about 40 pence per loaf) and the contents left a lot to be desired too. She would have preferred a meal deal from asda as it would be tastier and a lot cheaper. I have also not been to a place in a very long time who wouldn't serve me food due to my peanut allergy. This is one of 2 places I have ever been refused food (apart from a packet of crisps) ever. This is extremely disappointing especially considering the massive rise in people with such allergies and it made the place suddenly feel archaic.
Myself and partner always make sure to bring our own lunch now. Even if I could eat here, without serious...
Read moreFantastic, no other word for it. We both ordered from the specials menu, me having hunters chicken, and my partner roast of the day (turkey). Sat outside with unrivalled views, the hunters chicken came with fries and a side salad, everything was clearly made fresh, and generous in portion size. My partner's roast was turkey, with toasties and a side bowl of veg, and what was clearly a home made Yorkshire pudding. We both really enjoyed our meals, and the staff were very friendly, service was quick. Really good food, it exceed our expectations, and we both left very full and very happy, even deciding to opt for a pudding to top off a fantastic meal (what again looked home made, chocolate cheese cake and egg...
