DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BAG!
Very disappointing experience â wrong order, poor customer service
I visited McDonaldâs around midnight and placed an order through the drive-thru. I paid ÂŁ12.98 for a McSpicy (on its own) and a McPlant large meal with Fanta. Everything seemed fine at first, so I drove home without checking the bag.
It wasnât until later that I realised the order was completely wrong. My girlfriend, who I had ordered the McSpicy for, saw the contents of the bag and assumed I mistakenly got her a McCrispy instead. I told her I said twice when I ordered mcspicy as the person taking my order didnât hear me the first time I said. So she ate the burger because we didnât want to go back all the way just for one burger. But when I went to grab my burger, I realised that instead of a Mcplant, I got a double cheeseburger â something I didnât order at all.
Even worse, the receipt inside the bag wasnât mine â it belonged to someone else and was for ÂŁ10, not the ÂŁ12.98 I paid. Their order was placed just one minute after mine, so I can only assume our orders got mixed up at the drive-thru.
I returned to the restaurant to explain the issue, bringing the incorrect receipt and showing proof of my transaction. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the staff member at the window questioned us multiple times, making us feel like we were lying or trying to scam them. The manager was called over, and although we clearly explained and showed the receipt and payment, we were still looked at with suspicion.
To make things worse, the manager refused to replace the McCrispy with the McSpicy â even though it was their mistake â just because it had already been eaten. But it was only eaten under the assumption that I had ordered it. I didnât drive all the way back just to scam someone out of a single burger â I just wanted the meal I paid for.
On top of that when she asked me what drink I want I said Fanta with no ice and she wanted to give me the drink I had given them back which was Fanta zero (medium) even tho I said my meal was large.
This entire experience left a really bad taste. Not only did I waste time and fuel coming back to fix a mistake that wasnât mine, but I was also treated with distrust and disrespect. Mistakes happen, but itâs the way you handle them that matters â and this was handled incredibly poorly. I will definitely think twice...
Read moreStopped off here for breakfast on our way to the coast for a little family break, anyway we used the self serve as the kids like to order there own food, bought the kids a meal and me and the wife a bus ticket voucher deal (coffee and sausage muffin), when the assistant brought the food over to our table she asked if I'd got the vouchers, but I'd thrown them in the bin with other rubbish, she said don't touch the food I'll get the manager! ( Very rudely) The manager came over "Rihanna" and asked me for the vouchers and I told her the same I'd thrown them away as I'd used them, she told me that I have to hand them in once used, which I didn't know and never been asked before, I said what u want me to do I'd thrown them away and she basically started arguing with me in front of other customers which was really uncomfortable, so I just said look we not getting anywhere with this and just went and paid the difference it would have been for a meal, and asked for my hash browns now I'd payed for the meal, by the time we got to eat our food it was cold, and I'd noticed they had not even brought our coffees which I had to go back to the counter and ask for!! The only good thing about this McDonalds is the cleaner Tracey who was brill with the kids very accommodating, and even come over to apologize for what for what had happened... Great employee, Can honestly say I will never stop at this place again was handle the worst ever you just don't stand and argue with your customers Infront of a busy restaurant, she should have just told me that, that is not the normal practice you should do it this way ect ect, she seriously needs some training in customer management I felt very...
Read moreIn short, dry disgusting food and a lying business manager. Just bought three big mac's and three larger fries and a double cheeseburger. The double cheeseburger was not cooked fresh and had been sitting there for a while, it was cold and hard. There is no way the patties for the big macs were cooked fresh either as they were dry and cold. After complaining to the restaurant [loosest meaning of the term restaurant] the business manager wanted to me fish the remnants of the burgers out of the bin and return them for a refund. I was on a lunch break from work so that's totally out of the question to root through the bin then take time off work to return them for a refund. Not only that after complaining to the restaurant and finding what I was being asked to do unreasonable I contacted Mcdoncald's customer service to complain. I was then told that the store had reviewed the cctv of them being made freshly for me. The phone call to Mcdonald's customer service was made in less than 60 seconds from hanging up the phone with Mcdonald's at redhouse and I doubt if they would have had time to check the cctv, even so I suggest the Business Manager is a lair as I know what a fresh burger looks and tastes like and there is no way I was served a freshly prepared meal. It's not the first time we've had a bad meal from there but it'll be the last, as I won't ever go there again. In summary, go to KFC, go to the Chippy or anywhere else but here. If he's lying about making fresh food what other food standards are they cutting corners on and lying about in order...
