I would give zero stars if I could. Honestly, even that one star feels too generous. This was one of the most appalling experiences Iâve ever had at a McDonaldâs. After paying for a small order consisting of just one meal, a frappe, and a milkshake, we were casually informed that the milkshake machine had "just" broken. We asked for a replacement with another large frappe.
Then, we were told to wait in the car park. For how long, you ask? Forty-five minutes. Nearly an hour of sitting there like fools before someone finally bothered to check on us. People who arrived after us have been served and gone by that time and our order was still not with us. And when it did arrive, our food was ice-cold, and instead of the two large frappes we paid for, we received only one small. The staff member, looking barely interested, took the lone coffee back to "fix" the order, only for us to wait another 15 minutes just to receive our drinks without straws.
At this point, I asked for a receipt. Youâd think this would be a simple request, but no. The staff disappeared inside to see if it could be reprinted. While waiting, I went in to grab the missing straws myself, and what I saw inside was beyond disgusting. A massive complaint queue, an absolute mess of frustrated customers, and staff who looked like they were aimlessly wandering around on holiday rather than working in a fast-food restaurant. Not a single person seemed remotely concerned about the chaos.
And, of course, our receipt couldnât be reprinted. Instead, I was met with the absurd question, âDo you need your receipt for a reason?â Yes. I am a paying customer. I have a right to my receipt and I do not have to justify that. The fact that I even had to answer that question is just another testament to the sheer incompetence of this place. Took 10 mins for one to be served I was then in the queue for a further 20 mins. The girl on the payment window was very quick to respond to me driving upto her window and was polite. The girl serving the food out, new clearly. But she had already given the wrong order to the person 2 cars infront of me. Gave me the wrong order to start with. Did apologise. Gave me my order but never said that's everything. I asked if that was it all, she said yes. I always go to the car park to check it as I've had orders with things missing in the past. I was missing a brownie and cheeseburger. Looked on Google to try and find a number because I was In my pj's, hence wanting to go to drive thru. No number to call and no way to get it sorted without going in. Went in, no staff at desk. One woman got served and the older woman serving her was going to ignore me until I started talking. Told her I've just placed an online order that isn't right got 2 things missing. She jumped down my throat and said the cheeseburger is in the bag because I made the order. We haven't got any brownies but I told another lass to tell you and offer an alternative. I told her nobody had said anything and had to ask what I could have as an alternative. I was offered a donut and cookie. I took the donut reluctantly. She never apologised even though I said I didn't want to come in because I'm in my pj's. The service was so rude. I've ended up coming home feeling so upset and angry. I will not be going there again at all! I waited 20 minutes after placing a mobile phone order to be told that there would be a delay of another 10 minutes but no reason was given, they offered additional fries for my troubles. After waiting another 10 minutes someone kindly came out and handed me the order without any drinks! I shouted from the car window but she must of not heard. I then walked into the restaurant to what looked like absolute chaos! Customers were clearly unhappy, they seemed understaffed and those that were there looked incredibly stressed. After waiting patiently in what seemed like the complaints queue, I told a member of staff that I required the drinks for my order, a few minutes later it became clear these were not simply on the counter ready to go like a typically streamlined McDonaldâs. After waiting a few more minutes my drinks appeared, without thought and after waiting 39 minutes start to finish I though what was done was done. Oh how wrong was I. When I got home, living less than a mile away, it became clear the delays made the food cold, when we opened the bag the first thing that became apparent was the missing apple pie!
