Smoked Wiener BBQ@Conis-Bar — Restaurant in Doncaster

Lets also add, i am american myself so i know how american bbq is lol so to ssy not everyone likes america bbq quite literally i am american moved here years ago so wanted something like America again. I am not sure it's really my taste buds either because many other reviews say it's super burnt and not good. Both the times everything was burnt. I'm not sure who's doing the cooking, but to let food visably go out burnt is not okay. Also I have said, when going In to get our food the workers where smoking right by the door many people don't like ciggerate smoke in there face as they walk through to grab there order. Not sure why your trying to be funny but it's not hard to smoke away from the door when your working there just shows how unprofessional this is and your reply also does. I am sure with this it won't last long.

Ordered nov 29th and went in to eat right after opened first time.

Twice I been now decided to give another shot its absolutely uneatable. The fried pickles where so burnt you couldn't eat them the wings where horrible tasting. It'd ridiculous to send food out like that to customers. Honestly do not know where these good reviews are coming from that's why I gave it 1 more shot but it was exactly the same horrible food. They also changed there name sense first time I tried it when they just opened so given them the benefit of the doubt it would be better but it's not. The staff also sits outside smoking each time I have been to get our food just horrible. Don't know how...

I was pleasantly surprised to find a BBQ joint in rural Yorkshire. The staff were very friendly and helped me with all the choices on the menu. I decided to order ribs, chips, beans and coleslaw, along with a stout on cask. The restaurant offers about 6-7 homemade sauces, they were obviously made with a lot of thought. The server generously let me try a bit of everything. Some of the recipes like the truffle BBQ sauce were completely new to me. The sauces had a good range of flavour, both tangy and spicy. Was a very nice change from the limited, overly sweet sauces at some restaurants. The chips also came with a choice of seasoning. I had the rib seasoning, which was perfect.

The ribs were very good. Obviously smoked and slow cooked. Tender, but not mushy like some places that boil their ribs to simulate slow smoking. The coleslaw was nice, I think it had a bit of sesame oil in it. The beans were good and complemented the BBQ. The chips were freshly made and crisp.

The portions were generous. I arrived hungry and still ended up with a takeaway portion.

My partner and I ordered from here on the 28/09/23 @ 9:30pm. Our order was confirmed and expected for 10:15pm. At 10:45pm I called the restaurant as our order still hadn't arrived, we were told that our food was in its way and would be with us shortly.... (Keep in mind that Google maps states that the restaurant is 11 minutes away from us by car). Fast forward to the time now (11:16pm) our order still hasn't arrived and the restaurant is now closed.

We're assuming that we won't be receiving our order now. Worst service we've experienced in a very long time. Will not be giving these another chance in the future.

I'm hoping that the restaurant apologise for this and offer us the money back but we'll have to see what happens with that once the restaurant opens tomorrow.
