It's highly unlikely that any will find this place by accident. Apart from local knowledge, I guess it's holiday makers like me doing a bit of Googling that will find this place. We travelled here from Sidmouth, and others who do a bit of research and prepared to make a trip will be rewarded with a great meal and friendly, efficient service. The entrance is a bit "misleading" and gives no indication of what lies inside. The dining room is pleasant enough, the toilets exceptional but the food was the star of the show. Our waiter / owner knew the menu inside out and ensured that we had something to suit our preferences. Apart from your "typical" frozen chips all was excellent. Very flavoursome curries and well cooked chicken. Licensed with parking right outside.

Not long moved to dunkeswell, my wife and I decided to give this place ago and having some bad meals from our last Indian takeaway back in Oxford we were hesitate. This place however was amazing, food was absolutely spot on, the staff very friendly. Even my child enjoyed his chicken nuggets and my child is very particular and fussy ate it up! Definitely will order there again and can't wait for this all to blow over so we can actually eat inside!!

We have visited 2 weeks running now on a Saturday as we are on holiday and we can not thank the lovely Zack and the whole team for the most amazing & authentic Indian experience we have received. We are from London home of the Indian restaurant, However this has to be the most memorable Indian restaurant to date. Thank you for everything and we hope to see you all again next year! Many thanks Harry & Annette (London) xx

We visited here whilst staying local on a Friday night as a family of 3. I had booked a table after reading reviews but there was no need we booked for 7pm and there was us and 2 other families in there. The man who sat us (older guy) was lovely. However the man who took our orders/served us was awful. We hadn’t been there 2 minutes and he was over asking if he could take our order. We asked for 5 minutes. No joke 60 seconds later he was back at which point I just asked for something I’d usually have as it was clear I wasn’t able to have to time too read the menu. Seconds after he took our order our poppadoms arrived which is fine but I kid you not 2 minutes after been given our poppadoms he came over and asked if he could bring our mains out. I said no can we at least eat these first please too which he just wondered off. He then stood opposite our table and just watching which was so uncomfortable. And the second the last mouthful of poppadoms hit our lips he was at our table with our mains.

Can’t fault the food it really was lovely but just weren’t given time too settle in and enjoy a meal out as a family.

Seconds after we finished he was at our table again asking if we wanted deserts we said no and asked for the bill. Once he gave us the bill he then started cleaning the table with his spray before we had even got up. Too say we felt unwelcome and rushed is an understatement. £54 for 35 mins we were...

I can't fault the venue or the friendly staff. The service was great and i enjoyed some friendly chat with them. The food however was dissapointing. The first red flag was the condiment sauces that arrived with the Popadoms. The bright yellow mustard looking sauce was actually supposed to be mint , the nuclear red/orange sauce wasn't the tomato sauce it resembled but im told was supposed to be mango and the brown HP looking sauce wasnt the BBQ sauce it tasted like but im told was supoposed to be tamarind. Oh well i thought i can laugh that one one off and just hoped the mains would make up for it. My rogan josh arrived and it looked like a rogan josh and event smelt like a Rogan Josh but in no way did it resemeble the taste anywhere near that of a Rogan Josh. Infact the mustard looking mint sauce had more spice and taste than the tomatoe pasta looking sauce i was presented with. It tasted more like a bolagnaise sauce and a bad one at that. However I was hungry , I liked the staff and I ate it but did let the staff know that it could use some more spice and improvement. I forget which dish my friend ordered but he was equally dissapointed. I will would like to think we just got unlucky and i should have ordered another dish but i will give them one more try. But im not hopefull that it will be any better. Could do better as my teacher...

As was just said, the food at this restaurant was disgusting. I have never seen Chicken Tika Marsala ketchup red, and korma mustard yellow. It tasted like you had taken a can of tomato’s and coconut milk and dumped it over chicken. Funny part was, in my wife’s meal there were only 3 chunks of chicken. In regards to us leaving a tip, we are from the US, that was for the server as he actually did a good job, but don’t mistake that for a reflection of how good your food is, to be clear - it was revolting. Your comment about how you asked us how it was and we said fine (not good, great or otherwise), we were being polite, and as you then accused my wife of her review being untrue due to this, let me clear it up - It was horrible and my 9 year old said it was the worst curry he’s ever had, and he loves curry.

Update- owners response below - yep, I know nothing about Indian food, I’ve only been eating it for 42 year all over the world. You are correct the bill was 8 pounds less than stated (my bad). The food colour was not perfect, and anyone who has had a tikka Marsala in their life will know it’s is not Ketchup red. But you keep living in denial about how good your food is, and continue ripping off your customers. I hope others that have the chicken ketchup Marsala enjoy it and at least now they will know...
