I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Cannon Inn Pub in Newton Poppleford, and I can't stop raving about it! From the moment we entered, the cozy atmosphere welcomed us, and our experience only got better from there.

The true highlight of our meal was the superb quality of the meat. Cooked to perfection, each bite was flavorful and tender, leaving us wanting more. The crispy crackling was a delightful companion, adding that extra crunch that made the dish even more satisfying.

And let's not forget the sides! The amazing sweet parsnips were a revelation – their sweetness balanced beautifully with the savory elements of the meal. The creamy cauliflower cheese was simply divine, rich and comforting, making it an absolute must-try.

What truly stood out during our visit was Ellie, the bubbly bar person. Her friendly demeanor and attentive service made us feel right at home. She was knowledgeable about the menu and eager to recommend dishes, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.

Super Super. My daughter booked last minute as where we were meant to eat was shut due to Covid. Staff, location, parking, food excellent. No request to much. We were a party of 7 adult's, a 8 month baby and 2 dogs. Food was cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. Varied menu so something for everyone. Staff attention to detail was excellent and facilities brilliant. Space outside for dogs and baby to have fun. Would recommend very highly. If you're looking for passable food, daft laughs, and an affable bar maid then look no further than the cannon. As an avid Gooner, I first visited due to the name (and also as it's down the road from my mates mam and dad's), and I have to say I was welcomed with open arms (not literally). The guest ales are superb, and the bi-weekly quizzes are nothing short of groin wreckers every time. Honestly, if you're in the area I urge you to stop by. Although do check opening times first as they caaaan tend to be closed more than I would like, hey, can't have everything....
