Excellent Food and Covid Safety - Like all Pubs at the moment the Flintlock Inn at Marsh, some 15 miles from Honiton, is a shadow of its former self, but the high standards of Food and Service are as good as ever. We only saw two front of house staff, they were welcoming, friendly and worked like beavers. Their Covid Procedures are very good, tables are well spaced, thr staff wear masks and don't come close, when diners left tables and chairs were sanitised. There is a good range of Draught Beers on offer. My Mushroom Croustade starter was memorable with wonderful flavour. For our Stuffed Chicken Breast Mains everything on the plate was high quality, perfectly cooked and well presented. And of course we just about found room for the delicious Rasberry Bakewell tart with Cream to follow, generous and moorish. The Pub Dining Landscape in our part of East Devon is bleak at present with so many limited and simplified menus, but the Flintlock Inn...
Read moreMy conclusion first, good value, tasty food in a almost cozy atmosphere. The details - the out side if this pub looks like an old English pub should. Inside the are flintlocks and muskets on the walls. Wooden beams and open fires, but it didn't feel as olde worldy as it should have. Still it was neat and clean. Often with this sort of thing the mushroom has too much liquid still in it and the whole thing goes soggy, not here. I'm happy to report that Tabasco was available. This is not one of those places where the person bringing you your food has to say "what we have here is an foam of this and a reduction of that, a top a bed of the other". No it good honest pub food. In...

We had walked there from a close by camp site where we were staying with our caravan, but had last minute realised we had run out of gas and therefore couldn't cook the meal we had brought with us. The walk there was OK, but we knew there was some steep hills on the way back, so asked about taxi's, but they tried 4 taxi companies and could not get a taxi for love nor money. Bless them, they went out of their way and got us a lift back to our camp site via a local friend. Truly grateful that these lovely people are about and brings the British spirit back into communities and especially on the queen's jubilee weekend ð ð𥰠THANK YOU, THANK...
