My fiancé and I stayed here for one night and had such a great experience. The bedroom was very clean, and nicely decorated and they even left bottled water and cookies for us to enjoy. The weather wasn’t great for our stay, but we wish we could have taken advantage of the patio area. The real reason to come here is the food. The pub/restaurant was so quaint and homey. The staff was very accommodating and such a nice crew of people. We dined in the restaurant and had one of the best meals I’ve had in the UK thus far. My fiancé and I have been to many starred Michelin restaurants in the states and throughout Europe and I will say that this is on par with those. You’re started with an amuse bouche. I had the halibut and it was perfectly cooked, and my fiancé had the leek and potato terrine and could not fault it. We finished off with dessert and they were both incredible. Breakfast the next day in the restaurant was also wonderful. You receive a drink, a starter, and a main. They accommodated my fiancé being vegetarian without any problems and offered us more drinks if we wanted them. Overall, such a wonderful experience. I would definitely make it a point to come stay here if you find yourself the chance. Im jealous of everyone that lives nearby and can come eat here whenever they want. We will definitely be back! And they...

The 'rents live around the corner, so we come here whenever we're in town. The service is wonderful - the staff are ruled by Paul with a velvet glove and nothing is too much bother, but in a relaxed, friendly way. We ate early and so were the first to arrive, but we were not alone for long. Despite this there was no sense of urgency, and the gorgeous food arrived in short time, exactly as ordered. I can recommend the sirloin, which I had blue. I don't think it taxed the chef much, unlike the Roscoff onion & chimichurri, vine tomatoes, parmesan & truffle oil chips and a peppercorn sauce, which was a work of art. I'm not saying he didn't make an effort but waving it at the pan as he walked past left plenty of time for that wonderful pepper sauce. We've only ever had good times and excellent food here, and I would only say book ahead, and if having the fillet of haddock then only have a light breakfast and nothing for the rest of the day. Don't tell anyone else, otherwise the world and his significant other will rock up, and that would...

I can't rate the rooms as we didn't stay there. I did ask if they allow dogs in the rooms and they don't (they are allowed in the restaurant).

The no dogs in the rooms is as negative as it gets. The rest is amazing. Service is faultless. The food is incredible. If you like Old Fashioned cocktails get Mark to make you one with a Japanese whiskey Yamazaki. The slight smokiness adds a nice dimension to the drink. Might sound weird but it's so nice.

As for the food I'm not sure there's a bad pick. Just to give an idea on how good this place is, I'm not a dessert person. We ate there twice and I think my favourite dish (just) was the poached pear dessert. Insanely good. You'll understand when you read the menu. My wife had the rice pudding and that just rocked. Everything we ordered was perfect. The plaice, the lamb, the cheese custard (it's a thing) even my daughters fish and chips.

If you're staying in the area I would go as far as say "cancel any plans and make room for Tytherleigh Arms". I would go out of my...

First time at the Tytherleigh Arms, but we'll be definitely coming back. My wife and I went for Sunday lunch (top tip - book for 2pm and after as it's less busy) and were treated with a great set of dishes. She had the beef roast and I had the chicken with peas and buttermilk. The beef roast came with a beautiful selection of vegetables; carrot and swede mash, beetroot and turnip and a perfect cauliflower and broccoli cheese. The dessert did not disappoint either - a chocolate mousse with hazelnut ice cream and smashed up soil. All beautifully cooked and carefully presented - whoever is doing the cooking here knows what they're doing! As Londoners, we eat out a lot and have high expectations - this place really is very good at what it does.

I just couldn’t fault it. Food, drink, service and accommodation are all of a very high standard. Staff are lovely and welcoming, the chef is clearly very skilled. This is not a traditional drinking pub but rather an upmarket restaurant with rooms. If you look at the location on Google maps you might think the proximity to a main road would make for a noisy dinner or overnight stay experience. In practice, both pub and accommodation are well sound proofed and you cannot hear the road when you’re there. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s great.
